Also running a hilly 10 mile race in Mariposa on Sunday.

Anyone else planning to race anytime soon?

Yeah that under the freeway right there is a cursed area watch out. In 2002 I missed water there and had to slow and spin all the way around to grab it (I was REALLY thirsty) that right there probably cost me the 2 1/2 seconds.

I am racing just about every weekend. Jamba 5K on 9/18, Paso 10K on 9/25, and the big one Twin Cities Marathon on 10/2. Hopefully I can recover and still run CIM. Are you running CIM again?

I ran the Bulls 8K last year (not sure why they changed it to a 5K this year), and I was the last person to beat the first bull. Couldve gone faster but I was wearing a turkey costume.

Some of the bulls are instructed to go slow, though, and they give the runners a 3 minute handicap.

I'm around the Sac area and I'm running the Buffalo Stampede 10 mile this coming Sunday, 9/11. I'm running Portland Marathon on 10/9 and I think this will be a good tune-up race.

I'm waiting until after my 10-9 race to make the call on CIM. If I come through in good shape then I'll probably run it. If not so good I'm thinking about Napa in March or Newport, OR in May (have heard good stuff about this one)
You're a busy guy these next few weeks! Is training going well? Any solid time goal at TCM?

Have heard lots of good stuff about the Stampede. It does come at a great time to use it as a tune up for Portland. Good luck!

Stupid question .... are they actual bovines or folks dressed up as bulls? Checking in from Fairfield. Just ran the GVH Labor Day Races in Davis on Monday. Next up...Probably Tracy Run for the Ribbon in early October. Focusing on 5/10K's for the time being after a long layoff. Maybe one or two marathons next year.

yeah, they have elite runners dressed up as bullsthe palo alto residents would have a cow if they were real. nicole teter (ran the 800 meters in athens) was one of the bulls. for running shoes, i get emm at fleet feet. --

Currently training for the NYC Marathon.

Running the Bizz Johnson 1/2 as a warmup / pace indicator.

I'm relatively new to competitive running and haven't heard of this Bulls 8k or 5k, which is apparently going to take place right under my nose. Can someone let me know where to get info / register for it?

Also considering the possibility (not really seriously yet) of running CIM if I don't think NYC will be a good race for meeting my time goal.

We are going to Bizz with a small group. Are you planning on the pasta dinner? Drop an email, maybe we can meet up?

Also, CIM is a terrific race. If you don't run it this year, do be sure to put it on your list of "to do" races.

What is CIM? I am new to racing, just started the end of Apr this year.
