running Southern California beaches

Hey everyone. I'm new to running and am trying to mix up my runs. I was looking to get down to the beach at least once a week to run, but wanted some way to measure what I'm doing once I get down there--or at least be able to plan my runs.

I'm looking for some kind of reference map(s) of the beaches of Southern California--in particular LA and Orange Counties. I'd like some kind of reference to know distances (say, between two given piers).

Anyone know if any such information exists?

Thanks in advance!

I think some of the boardwalks are marked with mile markers. I've run between Newport and Balboa piers and unless my old age is playing tricks on me, I believe that stretch is marked. Also, I just ran the Huntington Beach Distance Derby and they painted the mile markers and 2.5 mile turn around going both ways from the pier.

Cash .... that's a great web site!
