Grommit - wow - amazing, congratulations. Went out for my 5+ loop early yesterday morning and I was checking out the sky, wondering how the bunch of you would make out. Nothing like trails being churned up in the rain by lots of bikes. Did you get rain ?

As soon as you can...give us your blow by blow...I even checked the VT thread..nobody has anything up yet...

Have a great week eveyone, Df

Congrats to grommit now officially an ultrarunner, well done.

My 6 year old daughter ran another 1 km race solo this week-end at Centre de la Nature in Laval that included a small hill to make it challenging for the young athletes.

I ran to back to back 10K's on Saturday and Sunday both runs included 4 nice hills to help strengthen the legs.

Went shopping on the week-end for a treadmill and after listening to bunch of sales people pushing thier pruducts I'm even more confused, Don't know where the facts start to overlap the bullcr*p. What are the most important things to consider in buying a treadmill? I do plan on using it a lot during the Winter.

Have a good day.

Whoooa !

yesterday's 9000ft of elavation pales in comparison to a couple of flights of stairs this morning.... up or down ! But generally the ol' corpus delectus is in better shape than it has been after some of the marathons I have run, with less than stirling training..... I'll try and find some time to share the subtleties of my first ultra experience in the next day or two, but alas reality is all over me at the moment, as usual and work beckons.....

thankyou all hugely, for all the encouragement and positive thoughts.

Grommit

Truxx/Chops... remember our run down the mountain the other day ? well take that and multiply by 9:27:30..... and there you have it

Grommit: We, the People, want a full report from the Machine.

Thanks to Knee + Truxx for a fun Sunday morning run. Truxx said he remembered the Grommit paths. A couple of minutes later, we were lost...

Sally: Arnica Montana is my dope.

Many congratulations to Grommit for what is an incredible accomplishment. I look forward to reading about the spiritual journey as much as the physical one soon.

Just wanted to drop by to say hello and give you some news. I've been cranking up my own training a notch or two in the last 2 weeks, if not in distance certainly in intensity. The Las Vegas marathon is in 9 weeks, after all. The highlights of these past 2 weeks include, among others, some really fast 6- and 8-mile training runs, a 4-mile training run (near 30 minutes... very fast for me) in San Francisco last weekend, and a 15-miler yesterday in Red Rock Canyon, one of the most spectacular areas near Las Vegas. I've attached a couple of links to Red Rock below, and you'll find an elevation chart on the second link.

But I have to tell you, the elevation felt like a lot more. The legs are a little tight this morning. I hadn't done 15 miles since early August, and I hadn't done hills like these since Whiteface. On the other hand, those Thursday hill runs are still in my legs since my partner, while faster than me, stopped after 13 miles.

For those who have been sending me emails, thank you for thinking of me. I appreciate getting news on how you are doing.

I hope everyone is doing great in terms of health and training, and for those who are not 100%, I'm sending you healing vibes from the West Coast.

PS: Chops, I hear that you had some trouble on the Da Hood recently... something about not being able to keep pace... what's going on, buddy? Don't slack off on the training just because I'm not there to kick your butt...

Take care all.
