Anyone running the Pensacola Beach Half this Jan 7th? I'm running my first half, sick right now tho with a virus. Ran 13.1 training run this weekend and ran it in 1:55:29. I was pretty proud of that. Hope being sick don't ruin it.

Hey, guys, I saw the design for the Pensacola Beach Run windshirts. Really pretty "beachy" scene. Last year we had pale blue long-sleeved tees with a design of sea oats, birds, sand, etc.
I am treasurer for that race, and just paid for an order of Tyvek jackets that we bought to sell at the race. They are bright multi colors with the PRA logo on the left front top. The company had only just over a hundred of that design left, so we took them all and will sell for $25 each, which just covers our cost.
The race course has been problematic due to all the hurricane destruction/road construction on the island, but we think it will be okay. We did have to change the start time to 8 am, at the insistence of the Sheriff's Dept. The registration forms say 9 am, so spread the word about the change.

Hey is the distance going to be a half or another mystery distance due the storm ? We're use to running around debree thanks to all the storms so it'll feel like home!
Hey good job snoop on your half, you know this run is also a 5k or 10k and you can decide durring the race your distance. I've ran it for the past 2 years and always been nice, I ran the 5k. This race was my first 5k race so I wanted it to be my first Half.

And a Merry Christmas to all of you, too.
How do you like this cold snap we're having? Husband just called and we decided to skip the beach tonight. It's always windy out there and feels much colder than on the mainland.
We might go up to Scenic Hills Country Club tonight for our run.

Yes, the beach runs are flat. And you can still register Friday night and Saturday morning before the race.
I am on race committee so will be working, not running.
One interesting feature about Saturday: We have always had the 5K, 10K, and 1/2 marathon all starting together, and you don't have to declare in advance which race you are running. You can take the 5K turn-around, or the 10K, or continue on depending on how you feel.

Chuck,

I live in Milton also. We need a running group out here! Can you please tell me where Bear Lake Trail is?

Thanks

Rodney

Hey welcome to Pcola. A nice run is Byou Blvd. You can park at the park close to scenic, run down Byou on the side walk to the walking path then turn at the end of it and come back, turn on hyde park road and the go back to your car. I live in Milton and like to run Bear Lake trail, a 4 mile trail, very nice and safe for the family. Running wild is a great running store in down town Pcola. Very nice and helpful people. Welcome to our beutiful City.
