Re: MAF, Low HR thread and group at RunningAhead.com (this new forum stinks)
geez. It took me two days to figure out how to get on here. I tried to log in, but it didn't take my password (which I know was right because I typed it about a million times), so I figured it wasn't up to speed yet. Finally, I said I forgot my password and it sent me a new one, which worked. Unfortunately, I am now gregw070 for some strange reason. Maybe there were 69 other gregw's, but how many jjwaverly's were there?

Re: MAF, Low HR thread and group at RunningAhead.com (don't like new forum design)

Agreed, this switch over is becoming very frustrating.

I hope the CoolRunning MAF group can all stick together and not jump ship before we figure out the bugs associated with the CoolRunning conversion...

I've learned a lot over the past few years and will be at a complete loss without the sound training advise. I have picked up a lot from all the MAF-greats, yet have more to learn. Im still a rookie and have a long way to go.

As a fellow MAF trainer I have finally learned to not worry about training speed or become affected/ influenced by others always passing me on long training runs (thanks to Jimmy, Jesse, Ahammer, LRNick and all others). This unique training is humbling to say the least, but the MAF-greats have convinced me its the right training approach.

Who else can I share thoughts and opinions with when my entire marathon training program(s) are based on running at 10:30 - 12 minute miles. The rest of the running world thinks its crazy and all junk miles.

Jimmy - did you sign up for an entirely new account to get into the runningAhead.com forum or was it some sort of CoolRunning tranfer?

Re: MAF, Low HR thread and group at RunningAhead.com (don't like new forum design)
Let us sincerely apologize for the problems you are currently experiencing with the transition from Cool Running to the Active system.

Our team has worked extremely hard to try and minimize these issues. However, any transition is going to cause some discomfort. Moving from the familiar to something new is a difficult situation. You may be asking why this transition occurred in the first place. The simple reason is that it was necessary simply to maintain the day to day operations of CoolRunning.com. The old CoolRunning.com system could no longer handle the load of the community. Furthermore, there were data security and maintenance issues that were creating an increasing strain on the system. Over the last six months, there were numerous issues of users losing data on the CoolRunning.com system, a trend that was accelerating into the New Year. By moving the message boards and running log to Active.com, you benefit from Active's more robust infrastructure, meaning no more lost data.

Again, we apologize for any problems you may be experiencing in the transition. We value your feedback and it is our goal to work with you to ensure your concerns are addressed and promptly resolved.

Also, the old discussions are being migrated over as we speak. Thank you for your continued patience at this time.

Another vote here for runningahead.com. I just emailed my log info. The log is the main issue for me.(don't like the forums either). active.coms's is just not useable. I was going to use logyourrun.com, but the forums at runningahead.com have more potential, and the training log seems OK. (not as good as the old coolrunning log, however)

I encourage you all to be patient. I know this is frustrating.

You can delete comments if they are your own. It should be in two places...in the actions menu on the left and below the post.

Re: MAF, Low HR thread and group at RunningAhead.com (don't like new forum design)

Sara,

Thanks for showing up and trying to calm us down, but unfortunately you're the first person from active that I've seen around. I honestly think you would have been better off keeping the forums down longer and putting them back up in one piece. It was disappointing enough that you had the forums down for days, but then bringing them back up in this kind of shape . . . not the best idea. Obviously months of planning went into the migration, because I've been receiving e-mails from Active for that long, so what happened? This was really the best that could be done?

I don't want to move on, because I liked the group that was at Cool Running, and I'm afraid of how many different directions they might go. There are/were some really knowledgeable people around, and this thread was one of the places to find them. I'm rather frustrated and don't even have training logs on this site, so I can't even image how upset some other people must be. I know you finally put a message on the front page, but I'm getting really tired of having to login everytime I come here, and then getting directed to some main page.

Honestly, I don't know what to suggest as far as keeping the users around. I'd start with having a few more Active people around posting, trying to answer some questions, and begging people to stay. That's assuming Active wants to keep everyone around.
