Paris, ON Runners Forum

Well...I'm back! Actually I never really left running, just this site (for a while). What I'd like to do is set up a forum for all of the runners that run in Paris, Ontario so we have a place to chat and comiserate (sic) about all the things that happen to us along our many routes in the beautiful town of Paris. With so many people running in our town, it would be great to chat once in a while about your best routes, who your running with these days, sites you've seen, stories you heard, best run, worst run, good weather, bad weather...etc. To start, I'd like to ask all who have ever run in Paris, Ontario to log on and say Hi! and a tell bit about yourself and your thoughts on running in Paris. I look forward to hearing from you!

Hey Scouter D.......good idea.
Todays run was pretty crappy, considering the heavy winds and snow conditions. 12k felt like 16k and took about as long.
Breakfast afterwards was great tho....lots of laughs with very good friends.
Happy New Year........all the best in the coming year - with strong running, healthy bodies, and surrounded by loving family and friends. What more could we ask for?

Wait, the Ontario thread covers you guys, so technically this is a mutiny. I'm sending internal affairs in after you.

Glad you started this tread scouter d, you are right about needing a place to share and chat as we don't always get to to that on our runs. I look forward to using this to get to know some of the other runners in our paris running group!
Happy New Year to you all!

ps I was really glad that everyone shared in gratitude yesterday at breakie - it was a valuable exercise for all of us.

yes, I am at work - and my assistant didn't show up so I am on my own! Not an easy job, this multitasking.
I was planning on running too, but I am too much of a wuss - freezing rain sucks.

The Ontario thread has become very Torontocentric, so if this is a mutiny then lets make the best of it.The rest of the province needs a thread. And we have lovely Paris on the Grand to thank for it. Jolly good. I am from Hamilton, 52 years old. I recently ran the Boxing day 10 miler. Next goal is the Grimsby half marathon, to be followed by the Round the Bay 30k and to be topped off by the Mississsauga Marathon in May.
Has anyone seen St,. Ralph? The best running movie I have ever seen by far. Any thoughts on it or other inspirational running films?

ok scouter d, you are officially famous. tell me when the big cheques start flowing in!

I also get the impression that the ontario thread really is a toronto thread and that we are not quite ther anymore (we were a few years ago)....but I have no problem with that! Welcome to any local (or otherwise) runners that want to post here, I look forward to the banter.

talk to y'all later.
ps I need someone to kick me in the butt because it is day 3 of this year and i haven't even considered running yet. But day 4, yes. Tomorrow.....yes, at 8:30am.

I gotta get my butt in gear!!

What're you guys training for?

Simps, I presume you have a weekly race series? That's really nice; I wish someone here would do that here. From December-March, there are maybe four or five outdoor races in the area.
