It was an off night for me...I was rushed to get to the studio after working outside all day and I must have messed up the numbers at least ten times. But at least I can laugh at myself...I do have fun doing the show...as goofy as it is...If only people could read my mind. People who know me know exactly what I'm thinking though...I just want to tell them..."Have a F'ing YARD SALE!"

hehe... it was only a promo for the show - so just a 30 second bit. But I'll be sure to keep my eye out for it!! I know a t.v star!

Wow... I ran 10k last night and must confess it was a rough go. I'm attempting to get back into the 10, 8, 5, LSD routine for the St. Marys River Road Run, and then (hopefully, but if I don't show then you'll have to pretend you never read this) flories half in November. Is she still running the half???

Might have been the weather or something though... even the dog was half dead when we got home.

Everyone's invited, of course -- new members are always welcome. We do have a few members in the U.S., but the community is mainly Canadian. The site just celebrated its first anniversary.

There'll be a bunch of the forumites ("Maniacs") at the Toad, and I think there are at least a few coming down for the Paris Grand Half as well. Look for the orange T-shirts. ;-)

Re: Paris, ON Runners Forum
Well... the dog fell of the bed this morning. Does that count?

Quite funny actually... super early in the morning, all of a sudden... THUMP - the dog had fallen off the bed. What a doofus.

He's my new running partner - we've gone up to 10k together. I haven't pushed him past that, afraid of hurting his joints (not to mention mine!!). When it was really hot out and if we're running during the day instead of the evening we head out down river road and make a pit stop in the river so he can cool off and look longingly at the ducks.

Last night during our 8k run we went over the Trestle. A family of kids and a dad on bikes went past us - it was the cutest thing, they all rang their little bike bells before they zoomed past us, even the little boy with the training wheels.

St. Marys is a nice town.

Re: Paris, ON Runners Forum
Saturdays run, the 32k Iroquois trail test.....was a test that, this year, for the first time ever, i was DNF. Yeah, Lisa and i were running along, having a really great time, and then down i went....in rocks and totally dislocated my baby finger. I though that Lisa and i were going to be sick......it looked so gross. From the first knuckle, my finger was bent at a 90 degree angle. We had to walk 5k in the bush, to get to the road to get someone to take me to the hospital.....where they, ah, set it. All i can say is that i didn't yell. So. luckily Lisa was there, but obviously, she was dnf as well. Jody did great, she came in first in her age group.
Golfing was alot of fun, from what i hear......i missed it, but of course didnt miss the party afterwards, neither did i miss Lisa and Scotts engagement party on Saturday, whichi is why i declined pain pills.
Doing ok, just sore, a little frusterated....i hate having anything holding me back. Typing sucks so i'm keeping that to a minimum.
I heard that Sat mornings run was cut short.........seems when i'm not around everyone just does whatever!
Back to reality this Sat. tho.

Re: Paris, ON Runners Forum
Well, ran last night with the group running into Brantford and I gotta tell you I am a little worried about my marathon on the 24th what with the left achilles acting up and all. It didn't feel too bad while I was running but when I got back downtown it was feeling uncomfortable around a 5 out of 10 on the scale. All you can do is keep on keeping on, we will see how it feels on Saturday. Any suggestions? HK

Re: Paris, ON Runners Forum
Hashiro - how's the achilles in your 30-something on the weekend? The Clydes back strong - 25 Km with mini-Clydes and her sister. One quick electric pain at 24.2 but went away & stayed away. What distance is slated for you this weekend ?

Hi ClydesD, the run on sat. turn out to be around the 33 km mark and except for a long, and I mean long, hill on Pottruff Rd. I think that it went rather well. This weekend I think is a 25 or there abouts, I'm not quite sure. Glad to hear your run went well, looking forward to the half in Disneyland? HK

Re: Paris, ON Runners Forum
Well I've been quietly lurking...vacations etc had me slow down some of my running but hoping to nail 15km as my long run next week...

Tonite I decided to pull a 5km time trial..and landed a new PB 24:55sec..In studying it afterwords I can see 24 min is doable..here's what I find..

I can keep up a solid pace for 3km then it starts to get very hard..if I ease off a bit in the first km I may get more steam in the tank, but I need to find a way to creep up the distance at the solid pace..

My goal is to hit up florie's run in Nov if it's still on, I'm gonna do the half just the 5km
