Ugh....my track workouts are too slow. I need to ditch these layers.

On the plus side, getting actual access to outdoor tracks in late Feb is a bonus no matter how you slice it, so I can't complain too much.

You know Patti, I still haven't seen this week's episode of 24 but I don't mind. I think that's a good sign.

As for Jim, he was hoping to run under 2:20 but then he had that incident we can't speak of because of the court-imposed gag order.

I've had a tough week work-out wise. I did manage to get most of my workouts in, but I missed a run and a bike. Tomorrow is a day long volleyball tournament for my daughter. I'm coaching because the head coach can't make it - YIKES!

What's there to it? Set, bump, spike? Or is that bump, set, spike?

Five miles easy yesterday in 37 minutes. I'm a little sick and I'm entered in a race tomorrow, so I'm debating whether to run today.

Lousy race yesterday.

Today I ran 14 km pretty easy. One week to the Chilly.

Patti, are you getting a strange craving for a grilled cheese sandwich?

I'm thinking of running the Half in Mississauga in May (my first). Will there be porta-potties along the route?

Yeah, yeah. Kind of embarassing, I know. But sometimes, in the last couple of kilometres, I just have to go, and I know there won't be any woods nearby.

Thanks in advance.

Hey 'giddy. Welcome to ths Ontario Runners Forum. I hope you stick around. I found this on the Mississauga Marathon website:

Are there port-o-potties on course?
Yes, every 2K at the aid stations.

I'm thinking of doing the 1/2 there as well. This will be my first 1/2, but I have done 2 (very slow) marathons.

Dawn

Thanks, Dawn. I guess I should have poked around that site a little bit more.

It's going to be a slow Half for me, but I'm still pretty much a newbie. I wanted to find a race where I wouldn't be coming in last!

I started base building in November, and just started doing 10 milers a couple of weeks ago. I found that I'm okay with longer distances, though there are no marathons in my future...yet.

I may do the Around the Bay race next year, since I'm not ready for it this spring. I'm from Hamilton originally, so it would be interesting to run through all those places that I know.

I decided today to run Mississauga Half...maybe Ottawa too.
