Congrats Eddie! Sheesh you're fast!!

I went to the bike show on Saturday. Bought 3 bikes, a helmet and a cycling jersey. Yikes! Two of the bikes are just low-end mountain bikes for me and DH. Just something to get us around the city. The third was a bike for my 6 year old. She spent about 2 hours riding on our street yesterday.

It's looking more and more like spring every day. Hope the weather holds for ATB.

Dawn

P.S. Get better soon aurang!! Let yourself heal properly before you get back out there!

Solid run, Eddie. Is that a PB? It's interesting that 1772 people showed up because the race was capped at 2000 and my pulling out got some people on waiting list into the race. That means a lot of people no-showed. I don't know how high that is, but it seems very high for a half marathon.

Thanks for the wishes Dawn. I can run for 30 minutes without any pain, which is what I'm doing while I ice and do my exercises.

Hey I was at the Chilly yesterday...as a spectator. Great day for spectating. Was going to run the Frosty 5K but it was too far...and they didn't have a 1K family walk/run where I might have fit in.

Deb, I was in Brantford so just shot up the river Seine to Paris to see if you were in. No prob...chatted with Larry for a bit..and then went to the Louvre...funny how it's advertised as Liquidation World...I got some treasures there, but left the Mona Lisa.

btw, I'm still "working" at RR.

I am going to be in California the week of ATB which is good as I couldn't run it anyway. Hopefully I can at least participate in the Mississauga Half...if I can get my time under 3 hours. :-)

Nice run, Eddie. I thought about going out that way but the fee was a touch steep for my current budgetting, Boston's gonna take all the money I got.

I've got a 22 miler next weekend. It's supposed to be warm out so I'm hoping I can do it in T and shorts.

No not a PB. My best half is 1:26 long ago in my younger days. Trying to hang on to what I got now.

The 1772 is from the finishing times posted. Might be some times weren't posted or maybe the 2000 cap included a couple of hundred walkers in the half, but started a hour earlier.

Glad to hear your on the mend.

Nice easy 3 miles outside today. It's starting to feel like spring! The "easy" 3 miles were actually really tough for some reason. I was out of breath no matter how much I slowed down. The only thing I can blame it on is my masters swim last night where I swam pretty hard. Either that or I just s*ck at running!

Nice and warm today, but rainy. Who's training outdoors today? I'll probably head out for a run at some point as long as it's not raining hard. I like running in drizzle, especially if it's not too cold. Sounds like a wonderful weekend coming up. I might even take the bike outside for a ride.

Ahh, nice late morning 10K run in shorts. Going to be a fantastic weekend.

Patti, hope your stomach feeling better, and Aurang's injury is healing fast.

ATB is getting closer and closer.

Lending to running the Brookings Marathon in South Dakota, May 13th this year, so no Mississauga Marathon for me.

Didn't you race in the Dakotas or Iowa last yeara swell?

My injury is coming along nicely, thanks. I tried tempo run today and felt sluggish and out of rhythm, but good other than that. I hope I can be back to where I left off by the Spring Run-off and the big road races that follow.

Hey Jim - I was looking for you during my long run today. Didn't you have 22 to do? Did you run in Taylor Creek? Great day for a long run. I managed to do 1:20 for my longest run since last summer. Felt great too.

I didn't realize how messed up Edwards Gardens are. I guess I haven't run there since the flood last fall. Lots of mud to run through, but everything is passable at least.

If the weather holds, I'm going do to a ride outside tomorrow morning with a group. I'm hoping the rain that's predicted holds off until the afternoon.

Hi gang,

Well the plans are coming together for our spring vacation. We're spending Easter at least with my folks in Peterborough, but are ranging far afield - Montreal to Brantford and everything in between including the place where they have that large building that Pfizer wants to buy from CN...

At any rate I have two half marathons that might be able to be run depending on where we're at. The first is in Burlington on the last weekend in April and the second is in Ottawa the same weekend.

The one in Burlington advertises itself as "challenging", while the Ottawa one is flat as a pancake based on the course along the Rideau.

Have any of you run the Burlington Tough *** Half?

Any of you running either race?

Glad to hear your healing up. Yup, I ran the inuguaral Fargo Marathon in North Dakota last spring. So might as well get the other Dakota out of the way if I'm going to do a 50 stater.

Hi Dawn, nice job! I run long tomorrow, or at least I hope. I spent the day taking down a large apple tree in our yard, all with hand saws. I suspect I'll be a bit stiff starting out tomorrow. I did do 5 miles this morning in TC up behind the Science Centre and back, had shorts and a couple of shirts on, it was beautiful out.
