5.5 km in 21 minutes isn't so much faster than 5 km in 20 minutes, Mr. False Humility.

I got the tickets for free. I think the game goes to extra innings if Adams doesn't make that horrendous error.

Hi Gang,

Sitting here on a Friday evening at the Super 8 Motel in Brookings SD getting ready for my marathon tomorrow.

Weather appears promising 8-15C, with hopefully mild winds. Been extremely windy the past couple of day out here in the wheat fields.

Dropped by the Field of Dreams movie site in Dyersville, Iowa on my road trip here. Looks just like the movie, except no corn yet and a small souvenir booth. No one else but me around, so I ran the bases and took a few photos.

Good luck to everyone running the Mississauga races on Sunday. Looking forward to the race reports.

Have a great run Eddie. I'd kinda like to be there myself.

Aurang, prep up for tomorrow. Weather should hold up.

I don't think I'm getting to Mississauga this weekend. We're heading to Brampton for a friend's first communion tomorrow...maybe I'll check if they're still accepting regs for the half on the way out....never know

Good luck all!

I'd really like to be where Eddie is. More accurately, I'd love to be where he was: I love Field of Dreams.

But, um, yeah, sure, go run that marathon. Seriously though, I'll be sure to check out the results online. All the best if you came looking to Cool Running for last minute encouragement.

Field of Dreams is my favourite movie...about baseball, but more about dads and sons.

My dad died when I was 11.

I'd give anything to play catch with him.

I have never gotten up to Dyersville, as it was 180 miles out of my way when I was in Des Moines the last 2 times.

Someday in August I will.

I'm running the 10K today with some people from the store. Hope they want to run around 55 minutes and not 45 minutes...well if they run 45 I hope they wait for me to drive me back.

Eddie, the man with two first names, ran 3:32 today in Brookings. How many states is that?

The other man with two first names, that would be me, ran 38:57 tonight (14th overall). It was pretty disappointing, I thought I was definitely going to PB (38:52 here last year), and it was only a matter of how much faster I was going to be. I ran a very good race, but the time just wasn't there.

It's a long racing season, hopefully the times will come as I race more and get a little sharper.

Most important of all, I did beat JC. The prizes here were much weirder than the Spring Run-Off: the top overall women received what looked like some sort of small appliance. I received an industrial strength flashlight for third place in my age group. I was happier with the technical shirt they gave me last year because, you know, I use it.

South Dakota was state #22.

Wanted to go sub 3:30, but strong winds and calf cramping did me in. Details in Run and Race Reports.

Still a pretty decent rung Aurang.

Good luck to the Mississauga people.

Yeah but you just nipped me by those 19 minutes because your chip and gun time were the same...I probably would have been a lot faster if I was up there.

Congrats on your placing...not to mention your flashlight.

Actually I felt pretty awful from asthma/allergies/fat and have decided to run no more races until those things...particularly the last one, improve. I had a little barf in Km 2 and had splits anywhere from 4:40 (which is what I should be running in my "golden" years) to 6:56...which is what I should be able to do even after I die.

22 states eh Eddie for a marathon???

Congrats...you are only 20 ahead of me.

Cool! Congrats to all the runners this past weekend. I really wish I was in racing shape.

Special congrats to Eddie! Wow!! 22 states -that's really cool.

I'm spending more time coaching my daughter's softball team than training lately. Only 2 more games and a tournament to go. Thankfully it's a short season. They're doing really well. Undefeated so far and I think they have a good shot at winning their division.

Just wanted to say hi. I'm from WNY and ran the Mississauga HM on Sunday. I had a great time running. It was pretty crowded! Long lines to get your chip cut off, to get a bagel and to get back on the bus to return to your car. Still, I liked the course and had a fun time. My family ran the 2K at the end. I'm looking forward to hearing what others thought of the race.

I'm planning on running the Toronto Waterfront HM in Sept. I seem to like the Canadian HM's

Wow...other people. It feels good.

Dawn, let me know if your team needs a right-handed bat on the bench. I wanted to play softball this summer, but I couldn't lie to my friend about how thoroughly I suck. Even when I regularly played baseball, I couldn't field. Also, all pitches ending in "-ball" or "-ider" confounded me.

Can you pretend to be a 10 year old girl? This league is for girls in grade 5/6.

Welcome to the new people on the board. Hope you stick around a bit. There were a bunch of us who were hoping to do the Mississauga 1/2, but we all wussed out and only 2 did the 10 k!! I've never done the Scotiabank marathon, but I'm sure someone here has. Keep on posting!

Too bad more of you didn't run the HM or marathon. It was a great day weather wise. Perfect temp. The last 5K was wicked windy and it was coooold once I cooled down. I heard some people saying parts of the marathon were practically underwater. They were saying the wind was blowing the water up onto that part of the course.

The waterfront race is offering a free ticket to see the Blue Jays play the Red Socks. I love baseball, so it will be a really fun weekend in Sept.

That would be enough reason to run the marathon, but I think they only give free tickets to Americans.
