I got to get in shape enough to at least get to the top first. Then I'll learn myself to get down

But there is always these for the trip down:

Congrats to everyone who braved the cold outside today. Ran the mountain from the NDGY via the Blvd, Pine east, McConnell ice rink & Olmstead to the top and the reverse. It was FRIGID on the way back. My fingers were frozen. Needed the warm water treatment. Very painful. So much for my hotpaw mitts. 1hr. 45 minutes but brrrrrr. Gro, I'll call this week sometime when I find out my schedule. My son awaits surgery on his ankle this week so my after hours have been filled,

Let me know if anyone wants to run Tues. or Thursday. Cover up everyone.

Congrats on the good albeit FREEZING run!

Oh my gosh, I'm sorry to hear that Colin needs surgery! Please let us know how it goes ...

Roly:

TB: Um, it's Mr. TM, not Ms. TM ... and there's still no way of converting me ... anyway, I've got a new sport now - channel surfing

Chops and Flyisa: I'll be back hopefully sooner than later, a little less fit, but those hills are a-calling!

Ralf: Any better today?

Sally

Sound like me running the trails near home after eating a bowl of my homemade chili.

Ok I have several questions for all of the Montreal coolrunnners!! I have watched "Running on the Sun about Badwater" 4 times in the last 2 weeks and I am reading "running Thought the Wall" short stories about various ultrarunners. I am curious how far are you "willing" to test your abilities?
Myself I am not naturally designed for runnng but running is one of my biggest challenges and one of my greatest joys (besides the wife and kids naturally). For me the question is not how fast I can go but how far am I willing to go to complete a challenge like Badwater. Would I be able to do it? If I dedicated my time to do it? What would be your ultimate challenge mentally or physicallly? If you had no restrictions holding you back. What woud you go for? Curious!!

MY wife told me that she would support me in whatever I decided and whould be there to crew me with the kids in any race I choice. Not pace me but crew?

Grommit If you had a team to support you would you do a race like Badwater?

You know how far, baby! Just hope this stupid car accident doesn't impede my training too much - minimum set-back is about 3 1/2 weeks but I am back to swimming more at least ... cycling will come next. Running not until after March Break (cause I have the kiddies). Have to ease back into it, ya know!

Just have to get rid of this head and back and neckache ...

Have a good night folks, and bravo to anyone who braved the cold ... brrrrrr ....

Swimmin' Sally

p.s. Grommit gave me a helping hand today to look at cars ... Who wants a lift in my new Chevrolet Aveo? Small car but packs a punch for the $$$, and I can fit the snowboards on the special roof rack!

Grommit? I thought Chops was our specialist for used cars. IMGhttp://www.coolrunning.com/forums/confused.gif[/IMG] IMGhttp://www.coolrunning.com/forums/confused.gif[/IMG] IMGhttp://www.coolrunning.com/forums/confused.gif[/IMG] I want to see your car when I come next time to YUL.

Yes, I am back from YVR. Back to get rain, snow and temperatures below zero. But spring is near.

My leg is better in the sense that the swelling has gone. However, I don't think that my leg is good. I got an appointment at my orthopedist for next wednesday. Take care

Ralf

So is that a yes.

Chops K2 That would be awsome, But I think you would need better boots then the ones you had in NY.

SS congratulation on the new car, your gonna have to show it off maybe post a photo.

DF, I like your list, Can I join you for the Pikes Peak marathon.
I saw this posted in the ultra runners forum and thought it was a good ssuggestion.

"My suggestion is, pick a race you want to run, enter it, do as much training as you can, and then run the race. What have you got to lose? The worst thing that can happen is you have to DNF, big deal. At least you will get to enjoy the camaraderie of the ultra scene, and have a nice long run on some trails, and consider it your opportunity to do some training for future races".

My challenge right now is in July if I can complete that I will see how much further I am willing challenge myself. I would like to run a 50 miler some day.

Gro ? you are such a shoe diva..I want a pic up on your blog of all the shoes in your home, office, in your car, wherever else you stash ?em. How many pairs will there be ? I remember you trying to sell me on the baby blue for ladies last year ? what is it this year - lilac ??!!

Roly ? Colorado, humm?gives new meaning to hill running....wouldn?t that be so totally awesome?? Sigh? Can?t wait to hear about your adventure this coming July.

Ralf ? spring, did you say spring ? Not just yet over here.

March 1st tomorrow, yes, let the weather gods be good to us...its been so darn cold since the weekend.
