Re: Macon Area Running
I'll pass this info on to Angela, and we'll plan on meeting you at 8:20 on Saturday. See you then.

The race in Madison is at 10:00am (5K at 9:30). I thought we could meet at Run Fit at 8:20, and that'll give us time to get bagels & coffee at Chesapeake. It's between 50 minutes to 1 hour to Madison, and there's usually plenty of parking, but it's not close by to the registration & start line. If you are wanting to run the 5K we can meet 30 minutes earlier. Sorry about the 1/2. Hope your hamstring is better now.

Re: Macon Area Running
So how was Madison?

I ran a long run this last Friday morning instead of Saturday. I parked at Central City and planned on doing about five miles around that soft surface before heading up into town. I'm not sure why my plan changed but I ended up circling the track 21 times. That will not happen again.

Hope all's well with you guys and gals.

Re: Macon Area Running
Madison was a bit of a bust for me, but Kimberly got a PR. At mile 2 I had to stop and walk as I had my first encounter with shin splints. I walked until Kimberly caught up with me, then I ran with her. The pain went away at the 9:30-9:45 pace. I've got some exercises to do that should help, so maybe I'll be better by Museum of Aviation.
Amber had a hard time of it too, with her hamstring playing up. Angela did well though too.

Scott, Amber,
Are the 2 of you meeting for the group run on Wednesday? Last week, Bill & Joe ran early and Craig & I ran at 6:05. Also, is the group meeting at the triangle on Christmas Eve morning?
<HR>

My family is getting into town Wednesday evening, so I won't be able to make the group run.

Is there usually a group run on Christmas Eve from the triangle? I'm interested in this.

Happy Holidays everyone,
Amber

Hello everyone and Merry Christmas.

Perry,
Yea they are my chairs. I'll swing by and get them soon but haven't thought much about since the weathers cooled. Thanks for holding them.

I think I'm about ready for The Museum Marathon...one more 20+ mile run.

See everyone around.

Re: Macon Area Running
Hey all. Time for the Museum of Aviation again. Weather channel foretold 27 degrees yesterday, then 37 today. Can't imagine it not being cold that day.
Some of us are getting together for a pre-race carbo dinner. Kimberly was going to host, but now it looks like Trey may do it. If you're interested post or call/email Amber, Kimberly or me.
I'll not be able to come to many of the Wednesday night runs for a while, as I'll be teaching a class at my church off and on through February. Anyone interested in learning how to cane email me or contact 1st Baptist Church (the one on High Place in the phone book).
See you at Warner Robins.

Scott

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but Trae wants to limit the dinner to 8 people, and I think we've already reached that number.

Good luck everyone; see you all Saturday.

I'm doing the full marathon. Looks like the start might be a little chilly.

Anyone thinking about running Al Toll the next weekend? I might just run the 15k easy.

Good luck everyone.

Re: Macon Area Running
Anyone doing the "Dirty Runs the City?" Steve Corkery said only 4 people had signed up. Sounds like it would be more of a group run situation!

Re: Macon Area Running
The "Dirty" run has been advertised on the 97.9 radio station, but I think they are hosting the race....and Dirty is a dj for the station, hence the name..Dirty runs the City... so the race might draw a group from people who listen to that station...but aside from that, I wouldn't expect a big turn out..

Re: Macon Area Running
I know it'll be just 2 days after the Half-Marathon, but as I'll be doing that real easy, I think I'll go see what the Hip-Hop race has to offer. It will definitely be a change of pace.
