Hi there everyone, I belong to the newly registered running club by the name of Phoenix--come one, come all to the best running club in the West Island. We have runners of all calibers, we run for FUN, but some of us are quite competitive like Acidosis. No fees for the first year, just great company, lots of laughs and great runs. Hope to see you guys. We sometimes even run at Mount Royal. And btw, I LUV my bright yellow jacket, but put duct tape over the Boreal logo from now on.<HR>

hey look at that... a mtl CR who's been around since it was KICK.... that's a lot of lurking...

Mornin' Gro. Are you out & about these days? Still sore? ohoh! 50 milers are tough with pain. Did you see the Marathon de Sable yesterday on the tele? Run accross the Sahara. Now those guys are NUTS. The show focused on an Italian runner who was leading until a sandstorm overtook everyone. He got lost, disoriented and headed off in the wrong direction (south instead of east) and was missing for 5 days with no food or water. Drank his own urine and ate raw bats and snakes until he passed out and was found by goat hearders. And we think we have it bad.

Chops. Give it some thought. Lots of different abilities out there, but you will ALWAYS be COOL! Take it from me.

Yup, been around a loooooooong time. Due to many unfortunate events, I had been relegated to being mostly a running impostor and lurker, for about 3 years. Now I'm back running again, feel better than ever, even planning a few races this summer.--only did triathlons last summer (5 of them). Even starting to consider changing my username to Granny, but my boy Acidosis, hasn't blessed me as a Granny yet (I think). Anyhow, happy running y'all.

Hey, anyone planning to do the 15K Champlain Classic this Sunday in Shelbourne. Sounds like a nice race. I'm planning to do it. P.S. So is Acidosis (my boy).

You want everything and you want it now ? Here's a great article that might give an explanation to some of your injuries:

Chops. How do you have time for all these searches. Thanks for the info, now get back to work!

Hi Granny. Good luck to you and Chris! I'll be in downtown Ste. Therese.

mercury, the track I'm talking about is at parc Etienne-Desmarteaux, corner Bellechasse/16th ave. in Rosemont. That track is in far better shape than the one beside Big O.

Me again, about lurking and Daskibunny. I guess lurking is common among runners who are not running due to an injury or else. It's typical in my case. When I'm in the bleachers, I'm biting my nails waiting to be back on track again and I don't want to complain about it. Even reading other runners' enjoyable running experiences is hard. So I switch off, which explains my silence from January to April.

Thanx RG. I know Etienne-Desmarteaux from my HS track days. I rember running there against Ed Whitlock. The track surface is Tartan. It was built as a training facility for the '76 games. It's accross the dtreet from Rosemount HS. Th city usually keeps the gate locked to keep out the unwashed masses (who paid for the d***** thing). Have they changed their policy? It's in great shape because nobody was allowed on it for about 20 years.

I'm completely different ... I need you guys to know ... Personally, I find it tougher being alone in my misery and I like all the jokes you make about my whining (and not sleeping). Laughter is the best medecine, with a good fizzio too ...

Welcome, Daskibunny. Glad you've come out of lurk mode ...

Sally

p.s. Sorry can't make Da Hills tonight ... got the kiddies ... what a lovely day ... don't know if I should cycle or run ... or both ... hmmmm ...

I can't remember who originally posted about this race but I remember reading up on these friends who did it together. Remember suggesting that we do it together, Roly?

Well, um ... I think I'll just cheer you on - Go for it Roly!

Sally

p.s. I got to run around and around and around Lafontaine Parc today at tempo pace (ugh - I hate huffy puffy and pushing ... I wanted to die) Anyone else get out in this gorgeous sun? I ran in my sports bra and showed off my Buddha belly
