Help: Moving to DC

Hi! I'll be moving to DC from Austin, TX in July and am looking forward to learning more about the running scene in the District. I've completed 5 marathons (2 in Austin, 1 in San Antonio, 1 NYC Marathon, 1 Boston Marathon) and look forward to up-ing that number once I start training in DC. Any and all advice on running in DC is much appreciated. Also, if anyone has any good leads on places to live (under $1600/month rent), feel free to send any info. my way!

Thanks in advance!!

Masharika

Re: Help: Moving to DC
Masharika: I'm not an expert but I know the Marine Corps Marathon is run in DC, probably October. I went to DC to run the, then called, Nike Cherry Blossom 10 mile which is usually held around the first weekend in April. I believe they had a cut-off on 5000 runners so you have to register very early. At the time, registration was free..... late 1980's. The course runs along the Potomac and monuments. It is just a beautiful flat course. I've only been there one for that race so I can't help you with housing suggestions. Lynne
