Hey Sally, just a quick note to say I took the coming week off, I could probably go running with you.

I think Merc is coming too, tonight.

Got to run now

What a report Gro!!!! This race is totally insane. Don't reserve any seat for me for next year event. But I might be tempted by something similar but smaller. All this summer training in x-country trails makes me wonder. Maybe a run sur le mt-Royal for a beginning?

As I'm gone fishing far, far away until Friday, I want to take the occasion to wish the best of luck to SS, our IronWoman. I know you can make it, it will be long, but you'll make it. Take it one at a time. First a nice swim, then a revigorating bicycle ride, and finally, just another run.

Hello all,

SS, Sorry I missed the gathering last night! I meant to tell you about an Ironman guy that I met at a conference last weekend. He tells a great story about having run a few ironmans now. That basically, after x hours in the lake swimming, then xx hours on the bike riding for what seems like forever, He gets to his last transition, and inevitably thinks to himself as he is tying his shoes, "right on, all I have left to do is run a marathon". Just remember that during your last transition too, all that's left, is something you have done 10 times now! Then you are home free!

We will all be thinking about you, have a good flight, and a great ride! There are not too many people out there nearly as nuts as you are, and you'll be glad to know they will all be right there with you! Just remember... "upright and smiling" you can do it.

JB.

Bonjour to all whom I met last evening at SS's rendezvous at the Indian restaurant.

I really enjoyed the evening...altho' we had to sing for our dinner and then needed a fire extinguisher after the fiery vindaloo!

I am truly interested in doing some trail running....and perhaps a 10k. ....remember now I am new to running and have never done an actual race.

Well said JB! Wow!

Uncle Sam, it was a pleasure to meet you, keep up posted about your next race, the Festival de la santé 10k? Thanks for the delicious treat, they're very good.

RG-congratulations for registering to your Mohawk marathon on oct. 8. The course looks beautiful, mostly on bike trails.

Gro, just read your Jay report. Whoaa, all these mud baths, I understand now why your skin looks so exfoliated.

Truxx, cant you just show up, already?

Thank you to all who came out last night to bid me good luck .. Chops, TB, KJ, Naomi, Kat, DR, Grommit, Uncle Sam (welcome!) And thanks to those who couldn't make it but sent me their best wishes ... Ralf, Mars, RG, Merc, Roly, the lovely Df, JB ... did I miss anyone?

I feel overwhelmed with emotion when I think about what I've been through over the past year with my personal life and with my training ... it's been a long arduous ride, and soon it will be over and I will be getting off, slightly heavier though since I will have a new medal around my neck ...

You're the best! I love you all !

Sally

p.s. I will need a wake-up call on Thursday morning. Have to be at airport at 5am. Need to wake up at 4am ... who's game? E-mail me and I will send you my cell #. Thanks.

Welcome Uncle Sam (American?). There use to be organized runs on Thursday night (hills) and Sunday on the mountain. But our event organizer has been busy with her IM. Hopefully we can get back to at least the Sunday runs this fall or I'll have to run with the Phoenix club.
So I'm up for a run on the old carriage road this week-end if anyone is interested in an early Sunday Morning meet at the monument i'm available for a 6:30 to 9:00 am start time.

Sillyone, best of luck to you in your IM maiden voyage. pace yourself and you should do fine. You got a lot of guts taking on this huge competition.

10.02 k this morning in 52:28.

roly

Greetings Uncle Sam. Good Luck SS. Hi Roly. Good to see you back at it again. Be conservative. You're in & I'm out-for a week or so. The right is so sore I can hardly walk. (I can run though, but I won't) Better to take some time and heal up in prep for NYCM in November.

Hopefuly I can do a race or two in the West Island circuit before it ends, maybe Lafontaine Pk. and Vaudreuil (15K). Anyone else out their got any races in mind? Am I racing alone?

Sorry I missed you Gro. Caled you back but got your machine. I was later told you were out-of-town. See you soon old bard....
