Very long run today. Completedly soaked upon my return to the gym. Saw quite a few people at Lafontaine park participating in the walk to cure breast cancer. Kudos to them for coming out under less than ideal conditions.

Not many runners nor cyclists to be seen on the path leading toward pont de la Concorde. I imagine that the Champ Car race and the weather forced them elsewhere. Not much to be seen in the return segment. Nary a runner nor cyclist to be seen at Lafontaine or for that matter the Big "O". Despite the rain blinding me, (remind me to get a pair of yellow tinted glasses), I was pleased with my run. The cool temperature made for an easy run. Can't believe that summer is over already.

Oh. well offf to Chinatown for some Vietnamese food.

Have a good one.

Wow... Sally really kicked butt in the swim portion. She turned in 1:31:32, although I don't know if this includes a 10:58 T1. She turned in 56:45 in Magog for half the distance (including T1). I guess the buoyancy of the wetsuit also had a more positive effect than the unfamiliarity of not training regularly in one.

This gives her almost 9 hours to make the bike cut-off. If she did not come out of the swim exhausted, she should make that without too much trouble. She turned in 3:36:04 in Magog on the half, so if she's managing her energy well and eating/drinking well, she should be around 8:00-8:15 for the bike portion.

GOOOOOOOOOOOO SALLY!

Because the tracking system does not seem to give splits on the bike part, we may not get any updates until late afternoon (Pacific time) or early evening (east coast time).

This is exciting, I've watched the race coverage all day long, and as the first women were arriving at the finish line, our own Silly Sally was ready to go for her marathon, getting closer to her medal. Way to go!!!

You guys are just incredible. Yes, I am an Ironwoman now Negative split on the run by almost 11 min. Too many friggin hills every, I felt like dying. You and I both know I haven't done enough miles and my recent lolly-gagging with KillerChops is not a valid excuse to skip workouts.

But fact is, I did it. YAY! But now I'm going to hurt as my body will suffer for having been pushed so hard for something it hasn't been trained to do

Alright, bedtime now, as I only got 2 hours sleep last night ...

Thanks to all my MTL Coolrunning buddies - you all mean the world to me, and for sure, there will be some sort of celebration when I get home so I can show off the pics and the medal.

Night all,

Sally
