I live in downtown Saratoga. Have you ever met up with the local running club?

sazerac - thanks for the tips and the fleet feet website. I think maybe by the end of Sept I will do a 5K. When my schedule is a little less hectic, I've had a few more weeks to "train," but the weather is not yet too cold!

I've spent enough time away from Rochester to appreciate it. I lived in Oregon for three years, Georgia for a year, and Florida for five before returning home. Those places are all nice, but there's something to be said about being home. Rochester rocks!

Wahoo - any tips on getting the "proper clothing" for winter running? My birthday is coming up and I've already asked for winter running gear. Any recomendations? Things to stay away from? TIA for any info you can give me.

Rochester! I lived there in the 90s, on South Ave. and also in Pittsford. I can never forget running at Mendon Ponds (and XC skiing). Another nice run closer to South Ave. was the path along the Genessee River and the Erie Canal near the U. of Rochester. I miss those places so much! I can still see and smell them through the seasons in my memory.....
I also lived in Ithaca, NY and Dutchess County, NY along the Hudson. When we recall the Adirondacks as well, hard to deny NY is truly one of the most beautiful states in the union.
Believe it or not, I am now living in Budapest, Hungary.

I'm from Long Island, but have a question about a race upstate. There was a great race upstate. It was the Fort to Fort. Up in the Fort Ticongaroga area.

Does it still exist?

I'm in Ballston Spa. I run at the State Park frequently.

Are you familiar with the Saratoga Stryders?
