Grommit: Thanks again for organising the supper. Really enjoyed myself. Gomez, you are definitely a star, typing without opposable thumbs as well. Looking forward to seeing you out on Mont-Royal

So much dessert from everyone. Oof! I'm glad I ran this morning with DF, Grommit, Roly and Stephane. No pain or soreness following the run. Life is good.

Re: Montreal Fall Chapter
It's official she did it. Angie has completed her first 5 k run non stop. We need to find her a nice 5 k race to train for before she decides to do the 5 k back 2 couch program.

We are now taking suggestions on her cool running name before she logs on.

Thanks Gro for your grand hospitality last night. we will have to set up another diner at my place after the holidays.

Don't ask, just know that I have to slow down when I go down my stairs at home. Luckily the wine glass I was holding kept me balanced.

Thanks for the run this morning folks, glad to have the Sunday runs back.

roly

RG: Yes, I dare you.

Grommit & Gomez: Thanks for all the dessert (and supper) last night. I gained 5 lbs. I had two cannollis (evil things) and a piece of chocolate cake. And three servings of paella. Burp!

Sorry I couldn't make the run this morning ... was up late last night painting.

See you all soon!

Sally

Merc. I might have to do the same tonight. Cold taking a turn for the worse. I'm on some pretty strong medicine but sitting here at work for the last hour feeling like I'm about to pass out and breakfast doesn't seem to like it's new home. won't make it to the hill run tonight give my apolagies to the gang and I'll see you alll next week.

Re: Montreal Fall Chapter
Hello all,

Thanks again for the great hospitality this weekend G & G. How wonderful to see everyone - except those who had to leave early :-(

It's been a long while since I have seen a dessert spread like that - just looking at it made the needle on my bathroom scale tilt a little extra to the right!

bebe'chops is looking wonderful there dad! Once again, like always happens at these events, I felt like I didn't have nearly enough time to talk to all the folks I wanted to talk to. Wonderful advice from both Grommit & Merc about running the big one. So, here's my question. I understand the concept of "if you think you are running slow enough... slow down some more", when can I "open it up" and pick up the pace at all? Or will I even be able to?

Good news from Mars, he might be able to do the run in the end! woohoo!

Once again, incredible to see everyone again! Sorry we got there so late, but folks go to see the munchkins (except DF & ninja!!).

Take care all,
m

....option i.....if you feel brave & a little stoopid feel free to pick up the pace @ around 18, option ii.......still feelin good & strong, around 22 is nice time to show off to the crowd by making the last 4 your fastest ....... option iii... and if you're just looking good but feelin like poo..... sprint the last 200 yds..... makes for nice photos!!!

...... but chances are you'll just be happen to get to the line, strategies are for the races that will follow..... merc would concur we're sure!

go get em lightning!

Re: Montreal Fall Chapter
Happy to have seen (most of) you all on Saturday !

Df: Sorry for Sunday... Too early for me. Went later on my new fave route: from westmount-en-bas (the canal) to westmount-en-haut (summit circle). Cotton legs + BBQ lungs guaranteed.

Merc: Are you still running at the Jettée on Wednesday with Phoenix + at what time ?

Re: Montreal Fall Chapter
JB. Listen to Grommit. Great advice. One most wants to avoid "hitting the wall", at least too hard........Starting slow will help to preserve those much needed glycogen stores that you read so much about. I would recommend Goo every 10K minimum and load up on gatorade (not water) as often as possible. This will help stave things off. Still feelin' good at 20 miles.....go for it.

Chops/ Truxx......Wednesday at the Jetty. 7:00pm, rain or shine.

Sorry we missed you last nite Roly. Killer hills (2x20 minutes with 3 min. rest). Very tough, but much needed for that all elusive SPEED! It was freezing out there. My fingers were popsicles....could hardly grip the cake afterwards. I'll be better dressed on wednesday.

Took a header off the front porch this morning on icy stairs. Landed on my back like a cartoon character. Bleeding forearms and very sore ribs at the back but otherwise no worse for wear - now where is that Advil bottle.
