Well I do the Lakes on the weekends but typically do my neighborhood loop in Prairieville. Boring sometimes but it gets the job done .I'm training for the Baton Rouge Beach HM right now and doing the Mardi Gras HM in Feb working towards a full maybe in the spring or next fall.I know exactly what you mean by the running conditions.Louisiana is filled with many running hazards. I'm fairly new to the running thing really jusy got into it back in Feb of this yr.after dropping alot of weight but I'm hooked now.Well got to get back to work check in with ya later.

Amen on the hazards of running Baton Rouge.
A couple friends and I run the LSU lakes pretty regularly. We're "older" ladies (don't tell 'em I said that and do mostly do the fun runs like Race for a Cure, Fat Boy 5K, Reindeer Run.

I'm really a trail runner (marathon, ultras). Those of you who live in Louisiana, do you know of any trail races (marathons, etc.)?

Thanks,
Annie

I'm in the Baton Rouge area. Question for ya...

How far is the distance around the LSU lakes?

Thanks!

The distance around the lakes is right at 6.4 miles for the full loop but if you do not go up the hill around the golf course it is 5.5. There is also the shorter loop that is only about 4 miles. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the information Jeffrey. I'd like a change of pace from the places I currently walk/jog/run and have been thinking of the Lakes for some time.
