Re: Montreal "cooler in winter" Runners

Hello everyone,

My friend Pam is in town again, and we are meeting at the angel at 9:00am on Sunday morning if anyone cares to join us for my last "long" run of my taper before heading to the desert!

7 days till take-off
9 days till the LAS VEGAS MARATHON!

I am so excited, today has 2 quotes.

Life... is like a grapefruit. It's orange and squishy, and has a few pips in it, and some folks have half a one for breakfast.

The average person thinks he isn't.

Gomez....Ruff....ruff. (translation: great Utube link. Support Dion?

JB. An early "good luck," but you will hear from me again before you go.

DF. Cover up if you go out. The wind is a bit on the bitter side.

Another couple of days - off needed. Rear ribs very sore. It's KILLING ME. (not the pain.....the not running.....)

So is no-one interested in a 9:00am Statue meeting?  What, a little cold and you're all scared!

JB sorry I can't make it tomorrow. I now know of the aliens that lampchop spoke of earlier this year. Cold has been getting worse. I know I should have called in sick and rested but it's been a very important week at work. Tomorrow is my one day off this week and I'm going to rest.

Re: Montreal "cooler in winter" Runners

Hi gang –

Mercury, you were not kidding – yikes ! Took munchkin out with me after lunch to do errands and it was cold, the wind crazy. We snuck into a coffee shop to read and have dessert and didn’t want to step back out. When we eventually got home, mama bear (nickname I picked up from a guy who did time in a BC pen) and baby bear got under a blanket someone brought me back from Quito many years ago and napped. !http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/smile.gif|src=http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/smile.gif|border=0!

Have you had your back looked at since you wiped out ?

Back to running. Just got in from a hoof around the hood – absolutely lovely. Full moon next Tuesday and the moonlight tonight is great, you can see the ice and debris left from the wind storm. Fireplaces going, boards are up for the outdoor rinks, lots of Christmas decs. One other runner, gent who was moving fast, no one walking. Listening to ole disco tunes, all bundled up, had a good run, despite making it a short one. You grab what you can when you can sometimes.

JB – as for tomorrow, I have no one to sit, everyone is busy. I would have liked to see you and meet your bud but it won’t happen . !http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/frown.gif|src=http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/frown.gif|border=0!

Anyone else running today or this evening ?

Roly - what the hey ???     Gro - you feeling any better ?

Sally - you survive the move ?

Shower and stretch coming right up.

Re: Montreal "cooler in winter" Runners

Hi DF. No doctors. All they say is REST and only after you've waited 3 hours. Ice & Adviland a few days off should do the trick. Probably try again Monday.

Sally? Move? Where? Hmmm. Housewarming?

Roly. Watch out for pneumonia. There is a nasty flu racing through my school. I already had my shot so I am somewhat safe, I hope. Nite everyone.

Re: Montreal "cooler in winter" Runners

Ran earlly this morning with a friend and we ended up losing each other at Parc Lafontaine. Weird.. it's a square!  How do you lose someone when you run the perimeter?

Stomach acted up at the edge of the parc. Thank goodness of the police station on Rachel. By the time that issue was tamed, the damage had been done. I was in survival mode on the return stretch to the gym. As I reached the monument, ready to fish out my bus pass, I had the pleasure of meeting JB and Pam. With one week to going he is in top form. It was on running on Olmstead as we saw downed trees from yesterday's wild weather. The path was blocked at the where the stairs leading to the lookout

Heading back to the gym was difficult. The lack of sleep, stomach acting up and poor nutrition took its toll on me. Hung out in the steam room until I thawed out.

Have a great day,

TB

Roly. Sounds like you are looking for an excuse to skip our killer hills Monday night!......just kidding. Best remedy.....chicken soup and more hard work.

Would like to run today but get terrific pain when I bend to tie my shoes.....maybe if I do it fast?
