change to active.com and c2k5 program

So is the coolrunning website going to continue to be available to us. The reason I am concerned is that on the coolrunning website the couch to 5k plan is free. On the active.com website it is $19.95. I printed it just incase I need it. So why does it cost on Active.com. Do you get anything more? Why is their a link on the coolrunning webisite linking you to active.com when we can have it for free here. Does that mean it is going away? I have really liked this website for advice, training tips and the good log. It has helped me to make it to week 4. Will it still be around for week 9 +?

For $20 they will automatically put the schedule on your active trainer log. I can do it for free in about 20min.

Like you downloaded coolrunning's free training schedules. I think it will not be long before it is gone.

Re: change to active.com and c2k5 program
The forums will still be here and be free.

Cool Running members wrote the C25k program and made it free to anyone who wanted to use it.

Active bought Cool Running and is now charging for the exact same info. As far as I know, no changes have been made to the program.

Your friends and support group should still be here and help you and cheer you on as before, and as far as I know that should be free.

The guy who runs Active.com used to run Ticketmaster. Take from that what you will.

That's the scariest thing about this so-called upgrade that I've heard so far. Might as well say "the guy that screwed everybody out of paying fair prices for tickets to concerts and shows is now screwing us.

That might send me permanently to KR even if by some miracle they do restore the parts of my running log that they destroyed, in spite of all of their "don't worry, your log will be there after the transition" lies.

This site sucks!

Try to C25K plan from beginnertriathlete.com

It was free the last time I checked, and is very similar to the user-developed one at CR that active stole and is now selling.

I have c25k saved in word format if anyone wants it.
