My first Peachtree was a blast! I won't post my time but will say that it was the best I've ever done. So, I'm pleased. FUN!

For me, at least this year, it is definitely all about the t-shirt. I may never take it off...
It was really fun yesterday as we walked around the Marietta Square to see others that had run as well. So many people would say, "Did you run? Congratulations!".
I hope I can run it again next year.

The Peachtree this year...

...the weather was great, my time was fine (not my best, but I got a top 1000 mug), and I actually liked the shirt this year.

Despite all that, I'm looking ahead. I just registered for the Chickamauga Marathon in November (if you aren't ready for a full, they also have a 10-miler that is supposed to be nice). I know a couple of you either are or are thinking about doing it, so keep me posted on training, news and the like...

Thanks-
fonsie

I was pleased with my P'Tree this year. It's my 3rd fastest 10k ever and while it wasn't the time I really wanted..I'll take it considering I had to set up the expo on Sunday, and work both Monday and Tuesday. My legs were shot...and was working on little sleep as well (that has since caught up to me). The first few miles were a little rough...my legs were just dead..but when we started going up hill, I started to get a second wind. I finished 54th (I think) and ran 32:48... but the highlight for me was on Tuesday morning I was asked to run the course with the Hanson's team and show those guys the course...super nice guys!

Congrats to all who ran!!

OH! And I got some pretty good tv time when I was finishing!

Hi everyone! I am somewhat new to running (started last year) and ran my first Peachtree last week. I mostly just wanted to introduce myself and say hi, but also, is anyone in a running group? I don't run fast (about 10 min/mile) but would love to run with a group. I was thinking of trying out the Virginia-Highland Wednesday night group, but I'm a little bit of a wimp in the heat so I thought I might wait a couple months.

Anyway, hi!

I meant to ask this awhile ago, but do any of y'all have the Nike+ system?

If so, it would be fun to do an Atlanta challenge.

Late in posting my 1st peachtree experience (been outa town)
but it was all I expected and more! My only trouble was in
drinking water 1hr before start instead of waking up and drinking 2hrs before. By the time I walked and found my group and then waited 20mins or so for start I was in trouble.
So a little over 1 mile in I found a dozen or so porta's off to
the side and made a 1:30 pit stop.(not what I wanted but
it was the right call)
Rest of the race was awesome. I hugged the middle yellow
line, walkers off to the right and people moving on to the left.
Loved the music/bands and all the support from the spectators. I didn't have any problems. Got used to weaving
to make sure I didn't hit anyone but making sure I was clear
of anyone flying up on me. I did start to struggle a couple of hundred yard down 10th and started thinking "where is the
finish line? But I made it, got my wonderful shirt, and can't
wait till next year.
