Good Luck Dawn!!!! Have a great race.

Heading to Picton for the weekend, therefore long run today, but it was only 15K. However, came after last nights tempo run so I'm a bit tired.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Patti

Re: Ontario Runners Forum 2007
Dawn's kept her word so far. She completed the swim in 1:24 (presumably no walking there), the 112-mile bike ride in 7:04 and has completed one run loop in 2:33. Her goal was 14 hours, and with a half marathon to go, she's at 11:11. She's going to get under 14, unless she fades badly on the run.

Okay, so she slowed a bit, but Dawn finished in 14:03. Wow. It must be such a thrill and a relief to finish. Congratulations! You must be so sore.

Congrats Dawn!! You hit your goal and I hope mentally you feel great. Physically, I'm sure you feel pretty sore but you are amazing!

Re: Ontario Runners Forum 2007
The reason I ask about the length of the marathon is that I'm at the store at the moment and the last 2 questions I had were:

How long is the 10K Race in Fergus?

and

Is it true that the Half-Marathon is 30K and the marathon is 42K??

Was the Fergus question from one of your former students?

Re: Ontario Runners Forum 2007
Hi everyone! Thanks so much for your posts about my race. It was an absolutely incredible day. I am thrilled with my 14:03. I was definitely on track for a sub-14, but I had some GI problems and ended up in almost every port-a-potty on the second lap of the run (I think I visited 10 out of 13!!). My biggest goal was to keep running the run and I was able to do that. My legs felt great. I only walked the big hills and I walked sometimes when my stomach was cramping (no more Gatorade for me!!). Other than that, though, I was running. It hurt bad, but I was able to keep the Ironman shuffle going, so I was so happy. I'll post a full RR in the multisport forum later today.

Thanks again! That last 300 meters to the finish line are unbelievable. I will never forget that feeling!!

Re: Ontario Runners Forum 2007
Thanks very much, everyone. It was certainly a wild ride. Now I have to work on getting faster instead of going longer. I'm going to work towards a BQ in the next couple of years as well as getting faster at the 1/2 IM distance.

Thinking about a 1/2 marathon this fall and a full next year. Is anyone running a local marathon this fall? I'm thinking about Toronto since I think Scotiabank course is just too boring.
