Congratulations - nice job at the marathon.

I ran the half, and set a PR with 1:38:12 (net time) 1:38:29 (gun time)

It was a nice day. I ran the full marathon a few years back, and I must say the half was much easier

It sounds like we all had a great time and broke several personal records. It really was a great day for running.

I'm still recovering Today. I went out for an easy 3 miles and started feeling the pain about 1/4 mile in, so I aborted. I'll try to get back out there in a few days. It looks like a nice day for running too.

Congratulations to all who did so well in the full Maine Marathon!

CPO, nice run and congratulations on the PR.

Bob W...nice debut and a BQ to boot!

Bob S, it would have been nice to run together. Joel suggested I change my plan Sunday morning and run the full!! It would have been nice, but I needed to stick to my plan. Congratulations another great race!

So, I ran the Half that morning. My goal was to break 1:30:00. Actual time was 1:28:52. Perfect weather and an uncrowded course was really helpful. I ran alone from mile 7 to mile 12, passed a runner than finished alone. What a day!

Brian

Yeah Brian it would have been nice to run the full together, maybe I would have been able to keep the pace back a bit better with some company.

You ran a great race, congratulations on getting that sub 1:30 you've been looking for. I knew you would get it with the temps where they were.

See you soon.

Completed a few runs this week: 3.1 miles on Monday, 6.3 miles on Tuesday and 6.6 miles on Friday. Planning 10 miles on Sunday.

Received my NYC Confirmation Card in the mail and assigned BIB number 7509. I am starting in the green zone unfortunately. This is the lower level of the bridge and currently under construction. Hopefully, the construction won't cause too much delay for us runners.

Only a week away...

Finished 9.5 miles Today feeling good. Nice sunny day here in Maine.

Now the bad news...I cancelled my NYC marathon entry, hotel reservations and airline reservations. It seems the construction on the lower level of the bridge will make the start very difficult and combined with my sore ankle, I just don't have it in me this year. I do have guaranteed entry for next year, so perhaps I'll enter again then.

I'm wishing all the other NYC marathoners the best and I'll still be following the results with great interest.

I'll just keep the roads here in Maine warmed up for y'all when you return.

Lonnie - sorry to hear about your having to cancel on New York this year. Hopefully things will work out for you next year.

I am sure I'll see you out and about at a race somewhere soon. Take care and stay healthy.

Thanks Bob.

I discovered why may ankle has been hurting -- bad shoes. I just bought these 2008 Nike Air Pegasus in August and ever since the marathon, my ankle has really been hurting during/after my runs. I thought it was just post-marathon pains, but I tried on my old shoes and my ankle no longer hurts. I guess my new Air pegasus' had about 250-300 miles on them, but I thought they would last longer than that.

I'm just glad it was only my shoes and not old age.

Well, I finished 6.6 miles Today and am really enjoying this fall weather. I hope it lasts.

Later,
Lonnie
