Tempe, AZ area running routes/trails?

I'm going down to watch some Cactus League games next week and am hoping to get a 4 or 5 miler in each day. I'm staying in Tempe by the ASU campus. In the past, I've just run the streets around the campus but I'm wondering if there are any suggested trails or routes w/ less traffic in Tempe that I could use w/o having to drive anywhere. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Thanks for posting this! I am moving to the area in July and will definately need running routes and was looking to join a running club as well. Do you run with the Scottsdale Running Co.? How is it?

Julie,

Honestly, I haven't run with them. I keep meaning to. I just need to get it done.

However, I did have a friend that I trained with run with them and she seemed impressed.

Best of luck on your move!
Billy

If you're looking to do something different, hike up Camelback Mountain, in the middle of Phoenix. It can be done in trail shoes, will definitely get your heart rate up, and the view from the top is spectacular. Take lots of water.
