Can someone who just migrated from Cool Running explain where the our new workout log is and how to access it?

Thanks

Re: Training Log
Let us sincerely apologize for the problems you are currently experiencing with the transition from Cool Running to the Active system.

Our team has worked extremely hard to try and minimize these issues. However, any transition is going to cause some discomfort. Moving from the familiar to something new is a difficult situation. You may be asking why this transition occurred in the first place. The simple reason is that it was necessary simply to maintain the day to day operations of CoolRunning.com. The old CoolRunning.com system could no longer handle the load of the community. Furthermore, there were data security and maintenance issues that were creating an increasing strain on the system. Over the last six months, there were numerous issues of users losing data on the CoolRunning.com system, a trend that was accelerating into the New Year. By moving the message boards and running log to Active.com, you benefit from Active's more robust infrastructure, meaning no more lost data.

Again, we apologize for any problems you may be experiencing in the transition. We value your feedback and it is our goal to work with you to ensure your concerns are addressed and promptly resolved.

We have made all attempts to make the Cool Running data log migration process as simple and complete as possible. If you would like to transfer your data, please follow these steps:

1) Go to www.ActiveTrainer.com and log in with your Active Network's user account and password.
2) The system will direct you to a Merge account page and tell you that your account was upgraded by CoolRunning.com. Click the button, "Create an Account".
3) The system will direct you to the Import data page, where you can opt to transfer your Cool Running data to Active Trainer. Click on the "Transfer my Data" button to begin the Cool Running data transfer. If you choose not to import your data at this time, you can always go to the My Account Settings page and transfer your data later.
4) If you opted to transfer your data, depending on how much data you've logged in Cool Running, the process can take anywhere from 4 to 24 hours to complete. In the meantime, you can begin using the Active Trainer features and tools.
5) Once the transfer of data is complete, you will find your Cool Running data in the calendar and Shoe Tracker.

We understand there may be a bit of confusion about the data transfer from the Cool Running logs to Active Trainer. Even though the data is largely the same, it will look different in the two systems.

Workout type, distance, duration and pace will transfer directly over.

Any comments, Avg HR and Max HR will be inserted into the workout notes for those specific workouts.

You weight data will be imported into the Daily Vitals section in Active Trainer.

Shoe data will automatically populate into the Shoe Tracker, including all mileage information logged to date.

You can view historical data in a number of formats on Active Trainer.

Your calendar allows you to see workouts (with varying levels of detail) in a month, week and day view.

Click on "Reports" in the top navigation to access your Training Log, showing side-by-side planned vs. actual data in a weekly view

Dig deeper by clicking on the Training Stats tab, which allows you to graph aggregated stats such as training volume.

Let me know if this doesn't work for you and we will work through it together. Your data is available it just needs to be uploaded. Thanks.

Re: Training Log
I don't see any merge account page! I have NO IDEA how to access my running log? Why is this so complicated? Is there any place where someone can talk me through this?

Re: Training Log

My data has been migrating since Sunday morning, so we are past 72 hours. I have been in IT for 24 years and I can't remember anything working this poorly after a transition. There needs to be a long post critique on what went wrong and how you missed the needs of your community. We weren't paying for coolrunning.com and I won't be paying active.com either. Also, I plan to avoid active.com races in the future.

However, it is nice to finally see a post from someone at active.com

Re: Training Log
Based on user feedback, we've realized that not all the data was transferred to Active Trainer. We're working on a solution now to make that data available to you. i realize this isn't the best solution, but we are trying to make it work. We will get you your data. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: Training Log
ActiveSara...thanks for trying, but it doesn't really matter. Based on the feedback I have read if you data transfers you still have a useless running log. Maybe one day active trainer will no longer say please wait 4 to 24 hours for your data to transfer, but I doubt it.

Re: Training Log
Active Trainer was designed primarily to be used with a training program. That said, we're working on some more "pure-log" features for the next few months and those features should make it easier if you just want to add workouts to your calendar. We are making changes. I hope you'll stay on board with us. If I can help in anyway please let me know.

Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated into the collective. Is that our option Active Sarah?

So then explain to me how you thought those of us who used Cool Running as a "pure-log" (in other words, *every single one of us*) would be happy with a transition that doesn't give us a "pure-log".

I can't tell you how disappointed I am to lose the features that allow me to quickly see that I've run 700 miles this year, or spent 3 day, 22 hours and 12 minutes on a bike this year. I don't find the Active site to be user friendly or easy to enter data into, and it certainly isn't easy to quickly track my progress.

Huge thumbs down to Active and their poor management of this transition. I'll be going elsewhere.

I cannot access my log at all. I never did see a merge button so I could import my information. I cannot tell you how upset I am over this to have lost all of my information. I need help with this. This is information that is priceless.

Re: Training Log
It is really sad that over three years of logs on Coolrunning appear to be gone. It was a free site, but one that served many of us daily and weekly. Any help getting this fixed would be grealty appreciated. As said ealrier, this informion is priceless to each of us. The log took years of countless aches, pains and victories to build. I used them to see patterns of training, injury signs and stronger months.

I hate to be negative, but come on...Will active ever be log, or is it more of a $34.95 buy a training plan that you can get free from asics or hal?

If you are looking for a fix for future mergers, put a SAN in place prior to merge, then migrate the information in tact. I guess they offload to iron mountain, and our logs are lost somewhere in tape back up world. (techies will laugh).

Happy running, and many thanks to the services coolrunning offered to us.

It will be hard to convince me to stick around a few months to try those features. What am I supposed to do? Write down all my data between now and then, and then when you finally get a working product out the door, I am supposed to enter it all again?

When you finally get my data back into my log, I will give it an honest try. But until my data gets in place, I will not be wasting time logging new runs. I am logging them at a couple of other sites now to find which one I like the best. Active can be part of this trial period for me, but only if you will fix my log. I have written customer support, but only have gotten a canned response that does not address my issues.

Oh man you guys have royally screwed us..hehe..We dont need training programs we know what we are doing- you have hijacked a site of knowledgeable exercise enthusiasts and you are treating us like novices. This is so amateurish the whole situation.
Active are you actually dumb enough to completley trash the coolrunning log-this is so sad.

The navigation of your whole site ie Forums not just the ActiveTrainer sucks so bad.. Everytime I need to navigate anywhere I am forced to click 3-4 times for a page to load.

So ticked off :(

Re: Training Log
I am not able to get my running log information. Do you realize how many hours people train and then to have to lose all the data is so low class? You need to fix this fast. It seems you are losing people every day and their trust. You certainly has lost my trust in you. Get me back my running log and maybe I will consider using your website. I am checking out other sites as well. The good one I found was runningahead.com.
