Dana, I have some tight yoga pants that after losing 11 lbs they were lose around my thighs. I tried to run in them and because the seam wasn't tight against my skin it chaffed my inner thighs.
I saw my MT a few hours after my long run. After the session, she looked at me and said "sweetie, M--- really needs to be a little more gentle with you down there."
dealt with them??? Aquaphor
bypass them? bodyglide
Yo Dana, how's it hangin'? I don't have chafing problems because I often wear compression shorts which protect my inner thighs. But sometimes on runs over 20 miles the hair in my butt crack gets irritated. So I apply a liberal amount of Bodyglide to said crack. It works well and also is a good precaution in case I get kidnapped by a bus load of pirates.
If you think long runs are bad, try cycling for 3+ hours....It's murder on the girl parts. Probably the boy parts too, but I dont have any of those.
I am a strong believer in aquaphor as well.
I work with the Anti-Monkey Butt Team, and all biases aside,
I've gotta say- this stuff really works to fight chafing problems. We've sent it this powder
to countless runners, bikers, and athletes, and nearly everyone has positive
reviews- it's got talc and calamine which gives it the cooling sensation that other powders dont have.
and check out this funny clip on fighting chafing!
When I used to run marathons I would place band aids over my nipples, and use vaseline in other areas...The first marathon I ran, I could not believe how sore my chest was from the rubing that took place just from wearing a damp teeshirt.....
I never noticed that problem with 1/2 marathons or other shorter races....
