TB and SS. That late start experience is exactly like my recurring nightmare I'm doing the week before a marathon.

I won't be at Hurley's tonight because I'm in mt-Ste-Anne. So maybe Grommit or Roly can answer my question about their ultra mountain races.

How can you run downhill on a steep mountain trail?

Just walking those takes years!!!

Come on, tell us the truth, which doughnut shop did you stop off at before you got to the race? There are a bizzilion restaurants on your way from Montreal to Laval... Was the RR serving cake at the race again? They know they aren`t supposed to serve cake BEFORE the race...!

hey gag

.... hmmm....... good question. We have been working on this specific skill for quite a while..... depending on the surface, I just tend to go for it, landing on the balls of my feet, avoiding contact between the trail and my heels.... longer strides, arms out for balance.... and away you go weeeeeee .....you don't want to do too much of this steep downhill stuff at the beginning.... it will destroy your quads.... grippy trail shoes with a big toebox are a good idea.... they will save your tootsie smashing into the front of your shoes..... a few hours of this downhill stuff in your regular sneakers and you can kiss goodbye to your toenails...... talking of shoes it is exactly this type of stuff that destroyed my Golites[/URL" target="_blank"> ...... the most comfy shooz I've ever run in.... lasted exactly 3 weeks!
I'm considering sending them back to the manufacturer.....

........ anyhoo.... seeyou later +/- 6:30.... get a head start!

Sorry none of us made the skinny-dipping and wine party afterwards ... how did Gomez like it? Did he enjoy seeing your tool as much as we did?

Have a good night, folks ...

Yep, nice tool gro...

GREAT picture! hehe.

Oh yes I did forget to mention that I saw DF in the lockerroom earlier yesterday evening and she said to say hello... but I forgot.... so HELLO! from DF.

It was great to see you all last night and SS: YES, the hamburger steak was DELICIOUS... very very yummy. For those of you who weren't there, SS couldn't stop talking about the hamburger steak and mashed potatoes until I ordered a plate myself and gave her some of mine! I may just head back there...

TB: How fitting, after that heavy meat and potatoes meal, I'm gonna have to run like ****!!!! hehe Thanx a lot

Merc: When you're having your b-day cake, think about me and then have another slice for me.

Re: Montreal "Realm of the Mount Royal trail runners"
Good to know that you had a great time yesterday.

Just ran in my trail this morning. Chipmunks and squirrels were crazy, they were all over the place. I'm happy to be here and running in a relatively cool temp.

I've registered for the 10k Run for Canada. It's supposed to be cool, like 12C. TB it's your chance. Last year, JB did that run and came up with a list of all the goodies he had. So maybe this year I'll find a couch that can fit in my new appartment.

While we're on the subject, a champion is about to be dethroned...

Yes indeed a sad incident, he has succombed to injury that will prevent him from competing this July.

Kobayashi has "JAWTHRITIS".
