Charleston running routes?

I'll be in Charleston, SC from July 4-9 and am looking for suggestions for running routes-- I'll be a 3/4 mile or so from the heart of historic downtown Charleston and near the battery I think . . .not so worried about the 3 and 4 milers, but I need to get my long run for the week (9 miles) in while I'm there (training for a half marathon). Any suggestions for a long run in Charleston? Thanks!

I vacation near Charleston every summer but I'm lucky - I get to run on the beach. I'm not sure where to run in the downtown area, it's pretty crowded and tight down there. Try contacting these folks, I'm sure they can help:

Some advice - run early b/c it gets REALLY hot in the summer and there isn't much shade to speak of. Have fun!
