We are listening and we hear you. All the features of Active Trainer aren't the same as Cool Running but we do have something to offer you and a community that we are working on making as much like your old home as possible. We do need your feedback and will work with the Cool Running community to improve and keep growing. We appreciate your patience at this time.

Add my name to the growing list of disappointed users. The migration was abominable. The user interface awful. We are runners - we work hard ont eh road - we don't want to work hard on a web site. Active looks like it could have some interesting forums, etc. but the current handling of the runners log for us Cool Running folks may turn us all away before anyone notices.

Whomever conceived of this transition really screwed up.

I totally agree with everyone else. This new merger is ****! Not just ordinary ****, but smelly, runny, 2 hours on the toilet seat ****! They lost my business. I'm going to check out some other online training log sites. I'm not coming back to this poop chute of a site.

The catch-22 is that Active.com generates its revenue via subscription-based fees. That's the business model. I bet you a nickel that our precious CoolRunning features will be available for a 30-day test drive and then $9.95/mo. thereafter.

You already knew what the site functionality was prior to the migration.

I checked out the running log at Runnersworld.com and it wasn't bad. It's not the same as coolrunning, but it's not bad.......Oops, I just got the runs again (see my earlier post) from coming back to Active.com's "log." I need to log off quick before I get dehydrated.:0

Hello Active Staff....a few suggestions from someone who used the CR log a lot over many years. The best one would be to bring back the CR log as it was....hard to beat that degree of excellence and I don't know why you would want to change it. I've tried several logs over the years and theirs was by far the best for me. Anyway, here are some thoughts:

1) It's too hard to get to the log. I see you've cut it down from signing in twice to only once...getting better but still cumbersome.
2) "Remember me" button would be good to avoid having to type the login info each time.
3) The log automatically calculates run and bike pace but not swim pace..I, for one, would like to have this back if possible.
4 )Swimming...I would like to just be able to log total time and distance without all the clutter (cool down, warm up, etc.)....?move those to the end of the page, or delete altogether and just give people a box to fill in if they want to add that (or other) additional stuff?
5) Monthly, weekly, yearly totals with overall pace for each are key things we like tracking.
6) The search, graph, and find features of the CR log were incredibly helpful with racing. I do Sprint, Olympic, half ironmans (attempting my first ironman 6/08) in addition to running races and can't always remember my splits for previous races or what I did leading up to a good race, etc. Anyway to add these features back?

I'm signed up on RunningAHEAD and am using both sites for now. I'm waiting to see how much you improve your site in the next week or two. I've already seen some positive changes so I am waiting with baited breath. My best advice would be....please bring back the previous CR log as it was. There are too many boxes (clutter) on this log (?delete them or move them to the end?) and it's missing the key ingredients that made CR an awesome site. Thanks!

TriGail

Yeah, I'm STILL trying to find my stuff.....I've been looking at other sites, like Runners' World log and have even considered a commercial software program I can use. After all, if Active.com can gobble up CR and lose your data, who is to say other sites are not vulnerable? Cool Running WAS a great site, but what Active.com did to Cool Running sort of makes what Bush did to Iraq look like a minor set back!

Yep, so much for "progress"

Hi rokudon,

Tomorrow we'll be launching an updated version of Active Trainer that includes the following features:

  • Adding and logging a workout in a single instance
  • The ability to run a report by month
  • The ability to run training stat reports by day, month, or year
  • Ability to display total miles across all shoes
  • Ability to display miles across selected shoes
  • Additional Cross Training Activities
  • Distance / Duration Odometer

I hope you like the new features and look forward to your feedback and suggestions for further improvement.

Let me know if you'd like me to expand on anything above or if you have additional questions.

Hope all is well.

Thanks,

Geoff

Rokudon:

Yes - the log is bad. Its awful. I gave up about 6 weeks ago and went to RunningAhead.com. Still not as good as Cool Running - but better than this place and not always looking for $$$.

See Ya Active!
