I didn't do the race but I've heard from others that it was short by almost .5 of a mile.

i did run the city kids 1/2 last year. not very well marked. a wrong turn later in the race cost the leaders the race and maybe a pr. it was very hilly. plenty of water stops and crowd support because it passed by so many schools but again, not very well marked.

Re: Providence RI Runners
I planned to do the Breakers Marathon the day before, but I lost so much time to injury this summer that I may do this race this year instead. I wanted to do it last year because the course went right by my front door, but the date was too close to Philly. I did the Newport Half instead.

I hadn't heard about the course distance being off, but looking at the USATF web site, I see that the course wasn't certified. It doesn't look like it's been certified this year yet, either.

Does anyone have any other info or possibly a website for the Newport Half? I tried to search it on Google with no luck.
