Post ACL recovery question

I'm new here. I had my ACL repaired (by patella tendon) about 5 weeks ago. I could only afford to go to 4 physical therapy sessins, but I do ride my exercise bike everyday, and am back to work as of last week. A week ago, I lifted my knee to above waist height and felt something pull very painfully in the back of my upper knee. It's SLOWLY feeling better, but I know I undid some of my recovery up to that point. Does anyone have any idea what I might have done? I don't feel it's quite to the point of shelling out money for a doctor visit. Also, when I tore the ACL, I did it doing martial arts. Is there anyone out there who does the same who could tell me when it's safe to return to training?
Thank you.

My number one piece of advice is to go to PT. I tore my ACL (and MCL and meniscus and cartilidge and tendons) as well 2 years ago and was in PT for a little over 6 months. I went every time and stuck to my exercises and icing schedule and last summer I was able to run a half marathon and am currently training for a marathon (in October). Go back to PT, I know its expensive (I paid for all of mine myself at age 20) bu walking and running was worth it to me. Your injury doesn't seem to be as extensive as mine was but I would still reccommend PT- even if you have to do the exercises at home or in a gym. Good luck!
