knee bursitis

I have been diagnosed with bursitis in my knee. It hurts most on the inner part of my knee. It hurts all the time, esp. kneeling or using stairs. I have had other injuries before but none that have ever sidelined me. There is no way that I could run right now. I have been laid off from running for 4 weeks now, with no end in sight. I am getting laser therapy and ultrasound. Of course I am also icing.
Do others have any experience with this? What did you do? How long until you could run again?
Going crazy here.

Re: knee bursitis
I got it at GNC. It is not cold or burning like ben gay. It's just a gel. You can alos get tablets. Arnica Montana is a plant (also known as wolfsbane or leopards bane).
