Tendon Injuries Healing Best Under Stress?
Lately, while rehabbing a tendon issue on my lower right medial leg, I have been cycling quite a bit more, to maintain fitness for Boston.
I ran my last 20 miler Sunday, which went well, but a lot soreness and throbbing the day after, which I took off.
So today I went on my 23 mile ride, which produced no pain during or after. Like in years past, I feel much more re-habilitated after riding from the long run, than I did just sitting around.
So this has me thinking that perhaps tendon and soft tissue injuries heal best under a bit of stress, as opposed to laying dormant. Has this happened to anyone, or has anyone had a similar experience, or can share expertise?
Just wondering if I?m doing the best thing for my sore spot leading up to Boston.
