Orthotics

I have had running orthotics made for my feet and have been using them for about 5 years. My lower back and knees have lately been giving me trouble. Should orthotics like running sneakers be updated on a regular basis?

Yes, they will have to be replaced occasionally. How often depends on a lot of variables, but 5 years is a pretty long time.

5 years is a reallllly long time. I have pretty high mileage and am going to have a new pair cast, about 18 months after the originals. The original orthotics had to be refurbished after a little over a year.
