Stomach Issues

Okay, so I know people don't want to read about stomach issues, but I need advice! I'm running a half-marathon this Friday and I have major stomach issues. I've taking pepto, and eating bananas, rice and toast and I'm drinking lots of water and gatorade. Anything else I should be doing? Any advice would be greatly appreciated..

Re: Stomach Issues
sheri,
Somewhere, buried back a few pages, is a 'colon' thread which may help.

You didn't elaborate on what your issues are; but the thread has MANY pages of insights/suggestions as well as MANY of us who suffer with colon problems on a regular basis.

good luck,
Karen

Re: Stomach Issues
I had diverticulitis last fall right before my first marathon. What I learned from that experience is that I probably had a constipation problem most of my life, but didn't recognize it. (sometimes constipation is really several small movements a day). I've been using metamucil once or twice a day and it's literally changed my life. I also track the fiber I eat and make sure to get 25-35 g/ day. Most days I'm totally regular, once per day in the morning.
