nhrunningmom, crunningman, and merigayle, thanks for your replies.
nhrunningmom - I actually purchased the US and have used a couple of times. Besides the Internet research, I had also checked with my PT and PCP before purchasing it. While they did not ask me to buy it, they did not dissuade it either. They were netural.
They both did mention though they preferred pulsed waves to continuous waves. They mentioned (also confirmed by my Google research), that pulsed was better because it avoids over heating.
Anyways, I have used this equipment (it is very compact) a couple of times this week - Tuesday night and Saturday morning. Unlike what was stated in the website of the company, I am only planning to use about 2-3 times a week. This is on top of the 2 sessions a week I am currently getting with my PT.
For my first "treatment" on Tuesday, I followed the manual did the US for 10 minutes. That may be a wee bit too much, as I felt the heat and warmth for more than an hour after the treatment.
For the Saturday morning treatment, I only did it for 6 minutes, and now the warmth was less and dissipated after about 30 minutes. I am actually planning to only do 5 minutes in future sessions. I use it on a 4 inch (circumference) area in my upper right thigh.
thanks again for taking the time to post a detailed response.
crrunningman & merigayle - where did you folks buy the TENS from? If online, can you post the web site. Not that I plan to buy it, just curious to read up on it. On what occassions do you guys use it and how? Thanks again for your responses also.
