fractured pelvis

Has anyone returned to running after having suffered a fractured pelvis? And to what extent where you able to run?

Sorry about your break. I had a catastrophic ankle fracture this past December and have been running again for a month. 5 titanium screws and one five inch plate later (along with significant rehab) I am racing again. I'm putting in 30 miles a week... though painful with brusing and significant swelling. Every day is better though.

While not a hip... if you were active and fit before the break you ought to be able to come back. I hadn't run for months and found myself jogging across an intersection here in Chicago to avoid a cab. That was my, "Wow!!! maybe I ought to put in a mile tomorrow!"

Both Runners World and Trail Runner have stories this month have stories about Danelle Ballengee... a world class runner who recently broke her hip.

Best of Luck...
