Possible Morton's Neuroma? Please Help
Hi
So I just started running again after having shoulder surgery for a cartilage tear about 3-4 months ago... due to my inactivity I have gained about 30 lbs and im now 225lbs
I have been having tremendous pain in my calves, shins and hams about 5 min into the run... i stretch, start again, stretch, start again... im able to fight through it and keep going, eventually the pain is tolerable (20 min in or so)
Initially I thought the pain was due to the weight gain, or i do need new shoes... but looking up things online... i came across Morton's Neuroma... and what scared me was the feeling of having something stuck in your shoe... before my shoulder surgery, I noticed that while running I felt like there was something in my left shoe or I stepped on a rock, nothing there I figured the shoes were just wearing a bit... now it looks more serious
I am hoping I am being paranoid, the pain is only when I run and my foot falls asleep only 20-25 minutes into the run, by then I am all warmed up ready to go but my foot falls alseep so bad I just can't go any further... I am not getting that "something in my shoe" feeling anymore... the tingling alseep feeling is pretty much the whole foot... I guess it starts around the big toe and radiates throughout
Currently, I am waiting on medical insurance so I cannot see a doctor, does anyone know if there are serious consequences for running on this if it is a Neuroma? And if not, any suggestions to what this is?
