help! foot pain

On Sunday I ran a 5 mile race & felt fine. After the awards part of the race, I went to get up from sitting on the ground & couldn't hardly walk on my right foot. The arch of my foot almost feels like it's badly bruised, but there is no discoloring.
I didn't run Monday at all. Tuesday I did some interval training at a track. (3 miles total) It did bother me some, but mostly after running it really hurts to walk on it. I tried to keep it elevated most of the rest of the day (which is hard to do.) This morning I got up to run my scheduled 5 mile run and only did 2 miles as it hurts.
I have been training for a 1/2 marathon and I'm in week 8 (of the beginner program listed on this website) So far I've been able to complete most everything with no major aches or pains. This is my first discomfort/injury. I have also recently purchased new running shoes but they are the same as my previous ones & I have only worn them 1 or 2 times a week, alternating them with my existing ones. I was wearing my old ones during Sunday's race.
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to what this might be?
HELP!

You might want to do an internet search on Plantar Fasciitis to see if the location and type of pain are what you're experiencing. There are many possible types of injuries to the foot - a dr. can do a real diagnosis, but you can get some ideas and descriptions from internet sources, incl. this page:

Forgot to add, if it is PF, you may be in for a long recovery, and esp. training hard like running intervals will not help you, sorry to say.
