Running induced Hematuria

I'm interested in hearing feedback/experience with running related Hematuria. This issue has just cropped up for me and coincides roughly 24 hrs after very tough workouts.

Feel free to email me if you'd rather not post...

Is it bright red blood in the urine?

Number one - see a urologist. It may be unrelated to running.

Number two, it may be myoglobin (which comes from muscle breakdown) rather than hemoglobin (the red stuff in blood).

A simple test will tell the difference.

Ditto the "see a urologist". My similar symptoms turned out to be kidney stones and required (in my case) surgical intervention. By the way, if you go this route, you'll most probably require a spectroscopy somewhere along the line. Take my advice and get a urologist who will allow you mild sedation during the procedure. I won't kid you (if your a male) this is as close to male childbirth as I can imagine. The best part of it however is it's fairly brief duration, a minute or two. Good luck.
