Gluteus maximus pull/strain - pain in the butt

Don't know how I did it, but somehow pulled or strained my butt muscle on the left side yesterday. Took Aleve and am icing.

The big question... I have a 5k tomorrow, it's a fund raiser for my son's XC team and I've talked and trained with some friends to race it with me. Pretty hilly course. Is it totally insane to run it? Is there any way to tape or bandage to help alleviate that area? Help.......

Gawd knows I am no expert but I did the same thing a couple days ago and I think its from hill work.
I just came back from a 5K (very slow) and it felt better to stretch it I also live in a very hill area.

Good luck!
