Hi Roy! Long time no contact. Perchcreek runs with his Tory all the time too. I have a terrier and run at work so not here.

Day off for me. If I hit 22 tomorrow I will have 68M on the week. Way up from last week and not smart in 'any' coaching manual. I'll be extremely watchful, and carry my phone.

Lou, what's your long this week?

Edited to add: oops I had 84 miles as the weekly mileage but that was an 8 day total. Lou caught my mistake in the next note. Minus 16M from last week makes it 68M. Whew that's better. Thx Lou. -Criag

Holy moly! Even 68 seems like a lot of miles. I'll say again: wow!

Quick post as I'm out the door.

Stats: 5.2 miles w/ 6x100m striders 41:53 (8:08/mi)

I forgot to mention my LR tomorrow is 17

Morning,

PFD, 68 miles, that's a lot. Good luck on your 22.

10 EZPZ along the river this morning, temps somewhere in the low 50's (sorry, Rose!). Exceptionally nice weather for running. Saw a few runners in long sleeves and one woman with gloves! First of three 20s for me tomorrow.

Good runs,
Mark

Happy September - off to do the swim I slept through yesterday.

Pro - take care. Maybe some extra (healthy) fats and proteins after your 22 miles would help heal the injuries caused, some tylenol and a cool bath.

Beers - wedding week-end yet? PDR - we will haunt you until you post photos you know.

Today was my MP training day.

So off I went in the H&H. 14.1 miles with 12 miles at MP. This one was pretty solid with MP paces from 8:35 to 8:19. Most were right around 8:30.

So I am happy with this one. I was not looking forward to it, but I persisted. It wasn't easy, but it didn't kill me either which is never a given with H&H.

Bill

Pro, that is a lot o miles to be piling on. I'm doing a long run tomorrow morning, and looking to run with somebody. Let me know if you want to connect.

I had another fast day today, doing a hilly 8+ miles @7:15 pace. The last 5 or so were sub 7, which felt great. Nothing like a goal race to keep you motivated on training runs!

Happy weekend all!

65 and delightful here, 5.25 miles, 1.5 of them at the track where the track team was training. Several kids really stood out as exceptional runners. My feet and legs were happy for the rubber surface.

Enjoy the weekend everyone!

morning boomers!

morning Roy, thanks for starting us! How nice for Woody. -) Your hr's better than mine.

Pro, listen to La T. And, I agree with Lou. wow.

nice run, berger! glad it didn't kill you.

MI guys, could there be a more beautiful day for a run? also along the river, but later than Mark. 51F. 95%H. (that help?) 65F. when I left.
53:33, 5.10 miles, 166 ahr, 181 max, 10:30 ave. pace, 8:32 max. plus a mile or so w/u c/d.
a stroke of genius..(don't know where that's coming from) I realized that if I parked in the lot that's midway - & ran a loop in each direction, I could have water right there in the car. not carry it. not spill it all over my clothes.
Mark, did you see all the swans? I did not see a woodchuck. good luck tomorrow.

yay eric!

nice runs everybody else. enjoy your weekends.

Hi Roy! Speaking of canines, it looks like a dog might be adopting us. She is a real sweetie, and so far we can't find her owner. If we keep her, we're calling her Puddin' Head.

Wow, Pro, lotsa miles.
Good luck on the 20, MarkGuy.
Rock on, Bill!
Nice run there, BAP.

The good news Labduck is that you will get better and you will recover fully. I have been through an extended no running or other exercise dominated by feet order too. It is pretty painful while you sit and watch others running but it all ends and is then a quickly fading unpleasant memory. But, waiting for everything to heal properly is worth the payoff.

Today was a recovery run day for me. Went with DW 8.1m@10:36. This is the longest run she has ever deliberately done! We once got lost with a friend while in Europe and that run might have been longer. Anyway, I am pretty proud of her determination to pull today's run off.

Monday is a big race day for me! It is the New Haven 20K and is one that I look forward to each year. I have a lot of friends running in it and we have a big post race party! Really, the best part about running is the social aspect. People think it is a lonely sport. But nothing could be further from the truth!

Very hard 18 miler today. First it was a bit muggy still 68-75F and humid (wrong side of approaching cold front) and I ran a new route that was viscously hilly trails (not real hugh, just steep and relentless), and I ran a 6.6 GA run yesterday, and my mileage is high (55 after the run). And I kept pace by HR since the Garmin kept saying I was slow in the woods. It was very nice scenery and at mile 10 I was passed on a fast downhill by a 20 something Goddess who had support from her BF on a bike. We commented on how nice that long downhill was and she ended up staying 100 m ahead of me for the next 4 miles. I think my pace was faster for that part . Then the dehydration hit and I wilted the last couple miles (lost 6 lbs, 4% body weight) and felt it... meh. But it was a great workout! .. think I'll rest tomorrow.

stats:
18.3 miles in 2:48:25 (9:12 pace average) by Garmin... it might have been longer and faster.. who knows?
(BTW.. Tory ran the first 2 miles with me)

Have greta runs!
