My message to Active:
Let us sincerely apologize for the problems you are currently experiencing with the anger being expressed by users who are so upset by the pathetic transition from Cool Running to the Active system.
Our community has worked extremely hard to try and understand the inane reasoning behind these issues. However, any transition is going to cause some discomfort when it is
done with such pathetic foresight and insipid design sense. Moving from the familiar to something new is a difficult situation, especially when
that something new is so much inferior to what you are familiar with.
You may be asking why this anger with the transition occurred in the first place. The simple reason is that it was necessary simply to maintain the ability to record the day to day logging of mileage of the users of CoolRunning.com. The old
CoolRunning.com system was perfectly capable of handlng the simplest of
logging tasks of the community. Furthermore, there were data security and maintenance issues that resulted in loss of years of running data, creating an increasing strain on the community. Over the last six months, there were numerous issues of users losing faith in the impending transition of the CoolRunning.com system, a trend that was accelerating into the New Year. By moving the message boards and running log to Active.com, we've been completely frustrated by Active's more robust infrastructure, meaning more lost data and a horribly unsatisfying running log.
Again, we apologize for any problems you may be experiencing in the protest to this pathetic transition. We hope you change back to the original logging system and it is our goal to work with you to ensure your concerns are addressed and promptly resolved.
