Re: Wed Sep 12 Boomer Runs
Econo... I'd never put "cute" and "snake" together...

dAAve, hope that calf/AT has enjoyed the trip. Thanks for the pics, I'd heard about some of those infant gravesites... My dad tell me about one in his family's region in Sweden where they just stacked the babies up on top of each other, and names were on a stone at the front. Very sad, I'm sure it happened elsewhere but that's his story...

Twocat, how's the weather forecast?? Ours hasn't changed; still has the low the night before at 35, highs the next day up to 55. So it'll be chilly at the start. Not sure what to wear... Input on fashion ideas welcomed here... I have shorts, and tights (which really are tight...and warm). Not much (i.e., nothing) inbetween. Need to dig out my light gloves, long sleeves. Hmmm, never had my biggest concern before a marathon be what to wear!

3.1 miles on my hilly roads last night and it felt really warm out for Sept. Knees a little achey, I think I've been sitting around too much.

1:15 hour slow run today after yesterday's intervals. Felt great...beautiful weather.

Going to see what looks like the perfect place to live for the "next year" in 10 minutes. Cross your fingers.

Our runs were exactly the same, except that I did mine this morning before it "heated up" here in Okla., and yours was further and faster. Well, the part about the shoes was exactly the same. DS brought them in off the porch when I was at work and hid them in the closet because he thought they were a present from DW and I wasn't supposed to know yet!

Neat pictures, DAAve. Hope you have a smooth return.
Today I walked the new property with a basket of black walnuts I've collected from our driveway, tossing them here and there as I walked. It will be good if one tree grows from them all even if I never live to see it. Afterwards I ran 5 miles at 8:45 pace, which I'll call a tempo run because it's somewhat slower than my HM pace. Tonight is Open House at school. I plan on distancing myself from the PTA table where the Market Day goodies will be spread out. Have a good evening everyone.

Re: Wed Sep 12 Boomer Runs
Afternoon Boomer's

Larry a very nice run

Darkhorse I feel your pt pain. We are doing a formation run at CGSC on Friday with the entire class in Formation. 1200 people alays a hoot. I am a army civilian now so the run is optional for me. I love to go just to marvel at the whole event. plus I don't wear ARMY pt gear.

I got out at 2:15 for 6.3 in 1:00:56. This was one of those days where I was going to skip then I was only going for four and then I just did the whole planned mileage. glad I did.

Peace

Gppd evening Booms!

just finished 3 miles on the "trails". 29:43.

7 walkers, 2 runners, two kids on bikes with training wheels, one dog....they all waved and some even said hi...well, not the dog...just in case anyone is keeping track.

Healing vibes are going out to all that are hurting.

It's starting to cool down here in OK...a nice 80 degrees this evening about 5:30. Just the way I like it.

Let's keep it up!

Hey Karl,
I read yours earlier, and saw you had the new shoes (to go with the new weather!) What a difference in a coupla days. I'm glad to see your feeling better. My quads actually were tired for 2 days after the D.D. race. Hope your training continues well, enjoy the weather while we can. Hope to see ya all either at the survival run or Tulsa. take care,
pj

Re: Wed Sep 12 Boomer Runs
only 8 miles this morning, but it was nice and cool/crisp-just the way I really like it!

tomorrow will be a big day as I'm having my truck repaired. I brought my bike and rode home-12 miles, and will ride to the hospital/office in the am and home, then jog to the vehicle.

Plan:
ride 30 miles
run 13

Hopefully I survive.

MS-very nice pics...good to appreciate what you have around you.

Re: Wed Sep 12 Boomer Runs
3.76 miles running in a new little neighborhood near me that I had not discovered before a week ago. It has some nice hills to climb and then coast in an "out and back" route.

It is funny how running becomes a focus that affects other areas of life.

Friday night I am going up with a friend to watch the Washington Nationals play host to the Atlanta Braves in DC. Then Saturday our football team is over at Rosecoloredglasses school for a evening match. That sounds like fun, but now I am wondering how to get some miles in. Oh well, I will figure out something.

Hope your day went well.

Re: Wed Sep 12 Boomer Runs
It's a rough night tonight. My soon to be ex-wife was sure riled tonight and gave it to me good. Maybe it's because I was happy (ie: starting the paperwork on a place I am moving into in October hopefully)....and taking the girls to see it tomorrow so they can give me the thumbs up.

Anyway...it's tough when your seperating and living in the same place. Yes you try to stay civil but when your also splitting up assets that you have built up over 21 years it's bound to get crazy..hmmmm

Time to go walk the dog....

Good luck!

I will, however, travel to the game on the 22nd...
