Disney has an annual "Epcot International Food and Wine Festival" going on and they have a "Race for the Taste 10K" this Sunday as a part of the festival.

To my good fortune, I'll be up there this weekend!

So, you can all get real jealous now because I'll be racing in Disney and sampling International delicacies and wine after the 10K.

soundie - we still haven't made an definite plans for Thanksgiving yet. My husband needs to talk to these friends of ours that invited us up there for Turkey Day (they own and race the drag car that DH crews for) and see if they were also inviting us to stay at their home while we are there. Whether or not we have to pay for 3 nights hotel will also be a factor in our ability to drive up there that weekend. 4 days in Seattle, hotel, race registration fee, doing some sightseeing stuff with DS, etc. could end up being pricier than we can afford right now. . .

I was going to run the Surf City marathon in Feb (formerly Pacific Shoreline), but I saw Opie was doing Carlsbad only 2 weeks earlier, now Soundrunner and Dove are too. Don't sign me up just yet Tamster, but I may have to do this instead. I'll ponder it for a while, as long as I don't stand anywhere near Soundie during pictures, it should be OK

I really like the way Carlsbad is shaping up! (Already knew Dove was going). I'm signed up and the whole family's going. We're booked in the host hotel. I can even picture that picture, with Labduck added!

In the meantime, Tamalina, would you be so kind as to add my virgin ultra on 10/27, the Rock Creek Trail Series 50k, Lake Perry State Park, KS. Thanks. Let's see, that'll be 3 weeks from now. So this weekend, PR or not, will be a good distance for a training run.

More than 3 months (15 weeks), baby. Plenty of time.
I'm essentially starting from scratch, too, Lab. We both have the prior base. We can both do it. And do it well.
