They are saying they let only 24000 finish.

It was a brutal day out on the course. I'll get a RR up in a day or two. The main thing is that the officials did the right thing closing it down at 4 hours.

I peeked at jtv's result too, and that told me all I needed to know about the conditions. He ran a sub-1:30 half marathon in early September and could have BQ'd with a sub-3:20 under the right conditions in Chicago. I feel sorry for everyone who trained hard for this race and had to abandon their time goals or even their goals of simply finishing. My hat's off to those who made it, no matter what their time.

I agree with DaveinAA. They should provide "I survived Chicago 2007" t-shirts for every runner who toed the line at that race.
