By itself, this is a great race. But coming after the setbacks you've had, it's an especially great race. I'm glad your new plan worked out so well. Congratulations on an awesome performance.

Ray, congratulations on the PR, AG finish and 3rd master! Your splits are picture perfect.

It sounds cliche, but the way you have worked through injuries and been so successful in your running is very inspirational.

Awesome run Ray! Your speed makes me feel like I crawled in my race. I guess now you have to aim for the 2:30s.......

Excellent job. I checked the Active.com masters rankings and you're time is 30th overall for the year, but some of those blokes have run several marathons, so as an inividual you're in the top 20. And way to bounce back from the setbacks.

Ray - I was delighted you were finally able to fit in a performance like this between sfxs! Those mile splits just boggle my mind. You are an exceptional runner and a real inspiration. I'm so glad it all came together for you this time. Congrats to you! Stay healthy - no more sfx!

Wow, Ray, great race! A 2:41:58 marathon at 47 and a PR as well. That's an amazing performance ... especially just after coming back from a stress fracture! I was particularly intrigued by the training that got you these results ...some really good food for thought. Enjoy this one ... you earned it!

Re: Philly Marathon RR - sub 2:42 and met Dr. Wu!
Holy moly, Ray. Another amazing race!

It gets me wondering about race crowds. If you're way up in front, it can't be all that crowded (in a field of 16,000). And if you're way in the back, the crowds thin out as well. So I'm thinkin', I'd better either speed up or slow down, as I'm getting tired of do-si-do-ing through the race with thousands of fellow runners....
