Thanks Holly, the eyes feel ok today. Sort of burning last night. I did ask a running friend about it, and he said it might have been combination of the wind (although it was at my back on the way down the hill) and the dry air. I guess our humidity dropped to about 20% last night... Who knows. The clear ski goggles might work, but they might also just steam up. Worth a try though. I can't have this problem all winter!
My husband usually buys all my underwear. I get a great big ol' assortment a few times a year (Christmas, birthdays, just because, etc) and I try them all on (with an audience) and keep the ones I like. Seems to work for both of us. !http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/wink.gif|src=http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/wink.gif|border=0!
Steve, I like that comment that it'll be fine by mile 4. That does seem to be how it works for me, too. Peter, you'll do great. Personally, I think there's an inverse relationship to taper madness and marathon performance (i.e., the worse it is beforehand, the better you'll do!), which is why I get concerned when I'm not a bit nervous before a race.
Even though it felt much more mild out this morning (about 5F here on campus), I'm going to the gym tonight for 6 on the treadmill. Might do some upper bod weights, but might not. I love this structured training plan...
PDR, enjoy your lunch!
