Re: Boomer Runs 12/12
Bad weather conditions for outdoor running around here for a couple of weeks now. In the daytime, it gets up to about 34 with rain and drizzle. Then at night it drops into the high 20s so the wetness on the pavement glazes over. The roads are OK for driving, but the surfaces I run on have been consistently slippery in the mornings. Why can't it just get cold and snow? I can handle that.

So that's my excuse for yet another short day with 3 miles on the indoor track and TM, combined.

Better luck to the rest of you!

Re: Boomer Runs 12/12
17° here. No running today (that I am aware of) but I did go out for an hour walk last night during the snow storm. This morning I cleared off the driveway, sidewalk, and my daughter's car. The ice was so thick it was hard to tell where the ice ended and windows started.

I love living up here in Michigan because it's so much like where I grew up (in Buffalo). Lots of snow, but school is still in session. Last week when I was in WV they closed schools with less than an inch of snow!

Nice picture of the cat in the Christmas tree. I don't have one like that, but I should get my camera and take a shot of the 30+ ornaments laying around the bottom of the tree that our new kittens have removed from it.

Maybe if we all stay signed on to the coolrunning forums they won't be able to shut down for the switch.

Re: Boomer Runs 12/12
Oh, I was so surprised to see this running this morning!!
Roy - that was a great story . . . is it true?

I do not think there is a single Boomer in that photo!!

Steve! Your tree has glowing eyes!!!

Since the site was suppose to be down today - I stayed in bed this morning!! Now I really feel guilty! I was so extremely tired yesterday and yet again this morning that I just felt I needed the extra zzzz's. I never did fall back asleep because I was feeling guilty for not running - but I did get some more rest!

Cheers!

Re: Boomer Runs 12/12
Just popping in to check the status of the CR forums. Great story, Roy!

I always enjoy seeing photos of Boomers. Mr & Mrs Beers are such a cute couple and Dave is always so photogenic. If I would've had a science professor that looked like him my undergrad degree would've been in physics and not business.

I am scheduled to run at noon with a friend but the wind is howling and snow predicted. She's more of a fair weather runner so I won't be surprised if she cancels. If she cancels, it'll be hard for me to go alone as today is our potluck lunch at work for the student workers. Eating yummy food vs running in howling winds? Tough decision.

Actually, Beer Runner isn't much to look at. But Predawnrunner--Hubba Hubba!

When I was a boy in South Glastonbury, Connecticut, the neighbors across the street had a bamboo grove in their back yard, next to a big weeping willow. We used to break off bamboo sticks and fight with them.

Guten Morgen, Böömervolken ~

> Runnergetic 5-miler along the banks of the began-to-freeze-over-but-now-temporarily-thawed Charles.

Just back from concatenated triumvirate of trips: Bermudahhhh --> Left Coast --> Middle Amuhrica. Wildfires, the Lake Effect snow monster, eccentric relatives, and way too much food were among the highlights. Sounds as if I returned just in time for the site to dematerialize??

^^ Hilarious tale, Roy! ^^

Also enjoyed impressionistic pic of youthful, photogenic running folk. . . . .

An hour of pi/yo this morning where the instructor tried to kill me. Despite all the core work I am doing, she found some new spots to work on. Great time. Then did my elliptical work.

Are they just toying with us here, or will the site shut down soon?

Thanks for the pic Lou, all very photogenic people make photography easy! Spareribs

Getting in before the curtain drops.

Roy, Hilarious.

Another CR'er gets a beer lesson.
Lou, That pic is just fuzzy that I keep trying to refocus. Disturbing.

2500 pool yds this AM.
A run later I expect, cuz tomorrow is a x-mas lunch.

Re: Boomer Runs 12/12
Roy, that story was terrific!
Steve...Do you have to plug that thing in??

Brrrr...it is chilly in Denver today! Ice and snowy conditions. I think the sun is going to come out and make it nice though. I will still use the treadmill - no ice running for me today. Plan is 6 miles.

Getting prepared for a boomer meeting with evanflein...oh, what to do, what to do????Run? Lunch? Sightsee?? I know I will load her up with Luna Bars and Luna Sport product!!!

Funny story Roy, good to see TB back.
I won't exercise till later, hoping for a run if the rain holds off.
See you all when the upgrade (successfully) completes.

Hey, mc you area begging to talk like us hillbillies. Is the global warming affecting you that badly?

Four fantastic TM miles at 9:30 m/mile this lovely morning. I am beginning to like running in the TM since I can watch the news as I am running.

I hope all of you have a fun-tastic day.
